has anyone ever used one at home in pregnancy? am about 13 weeks pregnant, in that worrying time between having the scan and being able to feel movements, and i have seen those dopplers the midwives use for rent and was thinking of getting one. It says on the site that you can hear from 10 weeks but does anyone have any experiences themselves?

didn't try one myself but i know what you mean about that worrying time! my little one didn't start with the movements until around the time of the second scan, and one of the women in work asked me on a daily basis if i could feel any movement yet - just to add to my concern! depends how much you'll worry and stress over it if you don't have one - if it would make you feel better to hire one, then do it - xxx
I bought one for my daughter in her first pregnancy, she used it from about 12 weeks onwards, she could only hear the baby's heartbeat if she had a full bladder when using the doppler early on, it was much easier later on.

I'm echoing planksy there- don't!

If you can't find the heartbeat, and I'm willing to bet it's not as easy as it seems to locate it, you'll send yourself over the edge in panic mode.
