I was bored on Saturday afternoon and actually watched Carry on loving.
I had never seen it all te way through before. During the film Terry Scott
is round this birds house and she spots her neighbours cat and proceeds
to shoo it out the door, saying off you go cooking fat. Terry Scott looks
somewhat surprised and says with disbelief your neighbour calls his cat
cooking fat, to which the woman replies, 'I think that's what he calls him.'
It is still making me giggle now. Sad aren't I?

no you aren't - not all the time and not in every film, but there were a few classic lines to savour
I love Carry on Films! They're still brilliant, We watched Bless This House the other week too, another good 'un.
The old ones are usually the best!
One of my favorites.

In Carry on Abroad Kenneth Williams character is called Stuart Farquar (pronounced "Far-cwar" so sounds a bit rude).

When he gets to Spain he tells the Spanish hotel owner his name is Stuart Farquar and the hotel own says "Stupid what?"

My other favorite is in Carry on Cowboy when Sid James arrives at the town and the lady in the saloon looks down at his gun and says "My but you got a big one"

and Sid says "I'm from Texas ma'am, we all got big ones down there".

In 'Carry On At Your Convenience' there's a scene where some Arab sheikh has order hundreds of bidets, the reason being that he wants them in time for the Feast of Abanibbul, when he visits each of his wives in turn and gives them a gift.
Nooooo !!!

the best line EVER is one from Carry on Cleo

Charles Hawtry comes running in saying "Infamy Infamy - they've all got it in for me"

Brilliant!!!!

Thanks for this post - now have a big grin on my face.

I used to love them as a teenager. Also in Carry on cleo, Charles hawtry says: Beware, beware the ides of march, someone says it was beware the nuts in may last time'
And the other one that makes me giggle was in carry on up the Khyber, when the head 'burpa' says to the snake charmer - 'Fakir, off'
Didn't Kenneth Williams deliver the "Infamy" line?
Yup JJ, I think you're right, I think he was on-board ship with Jim Dale and his mates!
You're right JJ, it was KW, and i think it has been acknowledged as one of the greatest film comedy lines ever written.
sorry :-(

I bow my head to the masters :-)
