...'cos it's a fabulous day here and I love to see a line of washing... but why do some people not hang their smalls on the line, only their outer clothing? I just don't understand it - everything's out on the line in our house!

Mine aren't big enough to handle a whole peg :p

lore - LOL, mine need two to see the full glory.
was going to boxy but there are clouds about and I wont be in to rescue them later, it's mainly towels and I so like the smell of them when they come off the line
It's not that I won't put them on the line...just find it much easier to shove them in the dryer.
I always hang out our smalls. Our garden is pretty secluded. Although if I was going to work and leaving them out, and my neighbour would fetch them in it rained, I wouldnt hang out smalls as I wouldnt want them being seen or handled by others.
I love to see a line full of washing, especially sheets etc.

I used to love seeing all the white terry nappies on the line when my son was a baby

Well yeah ummm, I could do that with most of mine (although half the stuff out there at the moment says "not tumble" but it's nice a) to get fresh air on it and b) dry if for free, for a change.
I put mine on the line, the tumble drier ruins the elastic - bras, well I'd be worried that some bird would nest in them at the moment!
We just tumble dry everything, I think the dogs would just have everything off the line and not really a suitable garden for drying as it is so enclosed to keep the dogs in.

I've only got a small garden, ratter, full of catz - our washing goes on a rotary line to save space!

hey, doc, what are you doing with my smalls ?
Question Author
Yours are they, anne - they're certainly not mine!
This reminds me of my oldest son (then in his teens) looking at my best black undies on the clothes airer & asking if they were mine and did I peg them on the washing line (there were no other women here)...when I said yes he raised his eyebows & walked off. :o)

I don't peg them out at the moment, I don't think the new neighbours look old enough to cope.
I would need a very high rotary especially as the puppy (Keeva) can reach higher than me, she would take great delight running around a rotary with a sheet in her mouth lol, Perish the thought lolol. What a sight that would be!! lol
if at all possible i put washing on the line.... it smells nicer.

You have a point, ratter, with the size of your beasties - it would be like a circus, you could generate your own electricity!
Our smalls or larges --- tend to get collected by our phantom knicker picker if you aren't careful.Seriously think he has a problem. We think we know who it is but not that sure , so a bit stuck on that for the moment.

Oh yes Bobbi--I kid you not .has been going on for a few weeks now -- but worry not us women will have him and when we do , oh dear me.!!!!!!

Response from the local police -- don't put them out --lol
