I was wondering how long it would be before little old "Rip-Off Britain" felt the consequences of what has happened over the other side of the world.

itll be more than fuel prices that rise.
I must remember to check the insurance on my mountain bike.
It will probably be just the UK utility companies that take advantage of the terrible tragedy in Japan.

Utility companies will be rubbing hands with glee, another opportunity to add a few pence per therm on top of the actual price rise.

I am seriously considering switching to public transport for my office commute. It is 5 train stops (30mins approx) and a 5 min work both ends. Its getting really excessive now, and where will it end?
Capitalism is not a good system, it allows some to abuse others to gain wealth beyond what can be justified. Problem is no one has yet come up with a workable better system. Won't be in my lifetime that folk get a higher set of morals and treat everyone fairly. Although Star Trek seemed to point the way :-D
Amazing how the Saudis etc, can make increased profits on the back of tragedy. The knock on effect is the government also gets more revenue as they take a percentage of the price. Wouldn;t it be nice for a change to say their will be a freeze on fuel prices!
