to lunch or not to lunch, that is the question!

a neighbour became quite a good friend, but since her man moved in (about 2 years ago) I tend to only see her when she wants something, or when she has some unexpected spare time.
I've just had a text "long time no see. fancy lunch? it's my first free day for ages".
I don't have plans for today but can't decide whether to go. obviously I'm not too bothered either way.
what do you think?

Just go. Life's too short to bear grudges.

I don't think it's really a grudge, Count.. but if we have lunch, then she asks for another favour.. I'll be angry with you for making me go ;o)

I'd go, you may enjoy yourself, and if you don't you won't go next time.
You've got to balance it between how much do you want to know what she wants and how much not knowing what she wanted is going to bother you...
What's better ???
Poor old sara, sat on the subs bench

I'd tell her where to shove lunch

lol, mighty.. my son just said much the same thing!

I'll have to drive, too.. she doesn't like driving.

thanks doc and mother.. maybe you're right x
You have the option of not obliging if she do ask a favour.

Who's looking after the grandkids?
Question Author
I've done that, society.

I made the mistake of offering to serve divorce papers on her pain-in-the-butt (now ex) husband.

then she asked me to do the new bloke's divorce for him! that was a "no" and she wasn't pleased.

I'll leave them to wreck the house, craft, unless you can come and get them? you don't have anything better to do, do you?

pixi - it's irritating, isn't it?
A true friend would not put their friend in a compromising position.

society, maybe she learnt a lesson after that one, but there always seems to be an agenda..

pixi, you'll have a fab time, thanks! two nightmare teenagers, heading your way.. best of luck ;o)
Question Author
oh, hang on.. they're my kids, and craft's grandkids ;o)
Finally the beans are spilled. I've always wondered who she was Crafty. :-))

Never allow others to make you do things you don't want to do, or which you feel is not right. If you do, you'll be allowing them to control you. If you do go to lunch, keep this at the back of your mind. :-)
