So the World leaders have decided that the best place to hold the World Economic Forum ... is in the remote, hard to access, town of Davos.

I don't get it.

Why would politicians want to spend a few days, at taxpayers' expense, at a fab and jolly ski resort, in January?

I can't think.

Do they like skiing ?
these meetings have been held in Davos for 40 years. They were founded by a Swiss; if he'd been planning for them to be held somewhere for delegates to have a good time, he'd have picked Blackpool; but he stuck with his home country, which makes sense. I don't think there's a lot of skiing

You don't think there's a lot of skiing ... in Davos ????

(or do you just mean at the WEF?)
just at the WEF, I meant. Too many journalists around itching for a good story about how your finance minister has spent your money skiing into trees and quaffing mulled wine.
.......in Blackpool. (Probably)

LOL

Presumably "gluhwein" in Davos !

Well, I've skied in Davos, and I wouldn't want to go to any crusty old conference.

(not that I've actually been invited to the crusty old conference)

But I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to to Davos on expenses.

... to "go" to ... Davos !
Coincidentally, my partner is out there 'working' for a big TV project and if you ask me, it all sounds suspiciously like a beano.

They should've held it in a Travel Lodge..

...in Birmingham.
Question Author
LOL sp ...

I suspect there may be a small element of ... err ... "relaxation time" in that project.

Oh look, I've found a picture of the busy offices where your OH is hard at work ...

And there's me thinking The Bilderberg was just another Davos Bilding Society.
