To all those who thought that the Wikileaks revelations were a good thing, and the public should know everything, I now ask do you still think the same?

I am a little surprised at your involvement in this discussion Ed, but thanks for the information.

It was interesting to read that "73 percent of Muslim students believe their parents are "much more or somewhat more" strict Muslims than they are"

If this is so, why is it that most elderly Muslims are moderate, while a huge proportion of the young are mainly fundamental?
> fundamental

Aw, bless... :-)
Because of the way that the 'youth' perceive older generations.
Can you substantiate your assertion that

// a huge proportion of the young are mainly fundamental //

I believe this to be untrue. A would say a very small minority hold fundamental views. I base that on personal experience. I must have met many thousands of Muslims living in my neighbourhood in my 40 odd years, and though many practice the faith, not many are fervent or zealous.
> Can you substantiate your assertion

Of course he can't, as with every other of his right-wing rants...

BTW 'fundamental' and 'fundamentalist' have completely different meanings...
Dear AOG,

I thought it would be best to offer these extra bits of information (the Mail article didn't link to the sources). As the information is available, we might as well go to the source, rather than rely on the slant of the paper (not to say the source isn't slanty itself of course!)

I believe JTH is correct about the prejudices of youth.

Spare
Spare Ed, your link just goes to the AB homepage.

So these 32% who thought killing in the name of religion was justified actually added the rather significant rider 'if attacked'. I suspect even aog would approve of killing an attacker? Those who left out the rider and approved of killing to promote Islam came to just 4%, which doesn't surprise me at all, let alone scare me.

Quite right I stand corrected I missed 'ist' from off the end.

It would be interesting to know though, why is it that only 'right wingers' happen to have rants?
I've never seen a Left Winger rant. They generally produce considered, well argued, comments.
I don't believe I ever said, or implied, that it is only right-wingers who have rants. Don't ever go to a rugby match - every time they scrum down, you'll be paranoid that they're talking about you...
leftwingers have gentlemanly debates over the brandy and cigars.
That's not a leak, that's common knowledge, pretty standard stuff for the religiion of peace. No need to leak that!

I can substantiate my assertions just as much as you seems to substantiate yours.

In fact mine are backed up with video footage and news reports of bombings, demonstrations and riots.

Yet yours are only based on your own personal experiences of Muslims just in your neighbourhood, those that you have met over the past 40 years or so.

How on earth can you tell their inner most feelings? I suppose the London bombers, the highly respected Doctors, or more recently the Swedish bomber seemed perfectly normal until they 'came out'.
yes sandy, right oh! reasoned arguments, like death to Mrs Thatcher for exposing their flawed ideology, death to GWB for .....well being GWB. All very logical and reasonable. on planet roe perhaps, perlease!

That just about says it all of the intolerant and prejudice 'Left'.

Gentlemanly debates over Brandy and Cigars??????

I thought that was the pastime of the decadent and capitalist Right.

All the things I thought were repulsive to the Left, 'GENTLEMANLY' for example, I thought the Left were for equal rights, so why leave the Ladies out?

'BRANDY' whatever happened to a pint of rough, down at the local 'Working man's Club' (oh forgot must not call them that these days)

'CIGARS' not seen many of these on the picket lines.
AOG, you're clearly mixing with the wrong type of Lefties. Why shouldn't a worker have a cognac and a cigar if they want? Too good for them, do you think?
what, you've never heard of us champagne socialists, aog? Rats, i thought we were taking over the world.
This one should take you to a pdf Jno: http://www.socialcohe...iles/1292336866_1.pdf

and this one to wikileaks: http://wikileaks.ch/c...09/01/09LONDON27.html

They work for me, anyone else having trouble?

Spare
It was the Iraq war that made Muslims come out from under their duvets, Couple this with the Afghanistan adventures and we are left with a steaming bed of resentment that will never go away. You don't need Wikileaks to add flames to the fire as media stations like the Muslim channel and Al Jazeira bring more vivid scenes for all to see.

The higher birth rate of Muslims will ensure that these fanatics will pass on all the hate to their offspring. At the same time the illegal entry of migrants will continue to grow making Britain a tinderbox in future years.
