I have just come across this report.

Why is it that The Guardian seems to be the only newspaper reporting on it, is there some form of media blackout on it?

/// "Local neighbourhood police officers are meeting with members of the community to keep them informed and to address their concerns and obvious anger about this criminal incident." ///

Sad thing for anything like this to happen, and I don't condone the actions of these arsonists in any way, but what does annoy me is the fact that the Muslim community get to receive a better service from our police force, than white communities do.

You're much more of a "post a question then sit back and see what happens" kinda guy aren't ya? Fair enough. :)

You always have to spoil an interesting news story with a racist slur, don't you?

Oh dear..... :(
well I do not think it much of a story to report - eejiots out there, they have been caught, they havent done that much damage - not much different to the nicking of lead/or even alms boxes (now that is desperate) in local rural churches down here - where the police have come out, talked to locals and the parish councils, slipped in a few cc tvs and 'bingo' - the bastards nailed (at Gwithian church).

Ok as an item for the West Briton or Western Morning News but not earth shattering and the poliss took the correct action to the community, as they would have done viz a mosque or synagogue in Devon & Cornwall.

I suspect AOG you are wielding the "brown substance" spoon (again) this afternoon. Bored are we?

Not a racist slur, and the excerpt I provided says it all.

This is common knowledge, the police, the politicians and the media, will bend over backward to please some communities, they will walk on glass over sensitive issues and expect others to do likewise.

You need proof, read news reports, watch the police in action in demonstration situations, do you ever see them beating, let alone arresting Asians etc. I am not saying it doesn't happen, (maybe it does) but we are not allowed to witness it.
it seems to have been well covered in local news reports, as you will see by doing a Google News search. Plus national coverage on the BBC and in the Guardian. Not that much of a blackout, more a suggestion that it's just a story of purely local interest.
Is it just me or.....why would I want to see the police beating ANYBODY??!!!

aog takes great delight in what we say in scotland stirring the sh1te♥♥♥
Perhaps AOG has a point.

Remember when that psycho went round planting nail bombs to miser gays in Old Compton Street and blacks in Brixton and Asians in Brick Lane - well because these communities have readily accessible leads, it's easy for the police to meet with them and assure them that the crimes are being investigated (to assure them).

However, there's no such 'community cohesion' amongst the wider community.

If there were a series of anti-Semitic attacks, police could immediately contact Jewish elders...same with Sikhs or other minorities....but who do you speak to when it's the majority being singled out?

Actually - does that ever happen???
