Why is the spare room dusty?

I understand a large proportion of dust is made up of bits of skin and other detritus from human beings. So why is my spare room dusty when no-one goes into it?

Dust fairies... no seriously the air is full of particles and unless the room is completely sealed the gust gets in...

You couldn't have a secret squatter living in the attic? They'd come down to the spare room for a bit more space when the house got quiet at night.
