OMG OMG OMG OMG... Nannydom beckons.... I am to be NannaBananas next summer. My Daniel Spaniel and his gorgeous girlie are going to have a sproglet.

I'm not even 50 yet - how can this possibly be?
I will be the coolest Gran in the World. I've already bought a Paddington Bear, well you just have to, don't you :-)

Don't knit... don't crochet... don't even sew unless it's a button covering a private bit. But I can sing, be silly, teach them to cook, swim and splash around with paint. That will have to do.
Hey congrats to you and your son and family :-)

And oi, if I can be a nana at 40, you can bloody well be one at 50 young lady!
Go for it salla, congratulations in advance - a join-in nanna is great, sproglet will enjoy coming to stay with you when they are old enough! And fear not, my SIL was a nanna in the year she turned 40, it's what you get for having your children early!

I do have 2 step-granddaughters, who I adore, as I do their fathers, my stepsons (complicated, this family business....), and I would not want to downplay their role, but my own 'baby' about to have a 'baby' is rather special..... I was 21 when I had him - very young, but it's nice to still feel a young nanna (I'm sure sqad would agree with that......) ;-)
You lucky lot - I didn't get one until I was 60 and had almost given up hope. In the end they managed three between them, all boys. How I would have loved more! Granny is better than Mummy - you can give them back if they cry too much and spoil them as much as you like. In fact that's what grans are for, to spoil the grandchildren. Paddington Bear is great and every other naff thing you can think of. Mine ar at the stage of games for their PS3 or that might be Xbox, I've lost track. Many happy days ahead of you salla.
Go granny! Congrats to you and the must-be proud parents.
Brilliant news :) Chuffed to bits for you all !!
Congratulations. My daughter has a Daniel Spaniel too. That sounds odd! Lol
none for me yet, we jnos wait until we're in our 30s. But here's a cake for them

Jno, (or anyone) can you please tell me step-by-step how you posted the above picture?

Congratulations Salla! So exciting.
society, I didn't post it myself, I just found it the other day while browsing on Google images. I simply cut and pasted the URL (the address line at the top of the page) into an answer, and bingo.

If you want to get one of your own photos onto here, go to an image-sharing site like image shack or tinypic. you will be able to upload a photo from your own computer onto it, and it will give you a URL for it - then cut and paste the URL here. (Beware, these don't last on tinypic forever and the URL will then be given to some other photo.)
oh, okay, a bit more detail: if you click on a picture on Google Images it will come up and there will be a line on the right side of the page saying 'Full size image' - click on that and you will get just the picture, not the website.

Alternatively, right click on the picture and it will say 'View picture info' - click on that and it will bring up the URL, which you can then copy over to your post.
