This is PC gone mad, if the little pig upsets the Muslims religious beliefs, then surely they should be given the opportunity to buy the toy farm without the pig, instead of removing it from everyone, I don't suppose they will make a discount for the missing pig.

But I see the ELC have now made a U turn, but all those non Muslims who bought it with the pig removed, will now have to make a return visit to pick the pig up.

How do you know it was Muslims who complained and not the do-gooder whites/non-muslims who always seem to like to speak for everyone else?
This is old news. The pigs have all been put back in the boxes - except those destined for the middle east - and it wasn't Muslims who complained but an over-enthusiastic person in higher management who just decided that the pigs might cause offence. A lot of nonsense.
Muslims didn't complain, the ELC though (idiotically) that it ''might'' upset Muslims, so removed the pig.

Seemingly the wrong pig has been removed? LOOOL!!!!
In Katy, near Houston, the Muslims wanted to build a mosque. The owner of the land next door immediately opened up a track fopr pig racing......the kids loved it and the Mosque wasnt built.

Remember Orthodox Jews dont eat pig either - traditionally it was a meat that could rapidly infest itself with worms in a hot climate.......most of the practices such as pig or fish w-out scales, or burying the dead in 24 hours (with a free set of 6 glasses with each certified stiff) are shared by both religions - the origins being health.....
Rastafarians steer clear of pork as well
Ask a Brit kid to eat horse and he or she wont - actually its not bad - but does need larding for cooking and is a little bit like bison
Horse is lush ... now you made me hungry.
well then anotheoldgit as its the Xmas season approaching, you better get going on the US school system banning nativity scenes inside state schools, unless used for teaching purposes (and the dont teach divinity), or alternatively the ban onb using the 10 commandments on statues/columns etc outside courts. And oh by the way all 3 major religions share the 10 commandments................
Is the ELC the Early Learning Centre?
pigs should be provided with protective devices so people don't have to touch them

What a cute pic jno.
cute enough to not eat, Micky!
I agree jno, I'd rather have him/her scurrying around merrily in my garden than on any barbecue.
Does that mean you can't buy halal Pork?
No rov but in case of emergency there is dispensation if one is in dire circumstance (ie life threatening) where he/she needs sustenance to stay alive (since preservation of life comes above the prohibition of eating pork). So if starving or dying it becomes normal.
but can you buy kosher pork rov1200? And it's the shabbat.....
ta for that MM, you are indeed correct - time to go and break out a chop for a late supper.
Halal meat means that the animal is firstly a permitted animal that can be consumed, and then slaughtered in accordance with the requirements of Islam. Then the meat becomes Halal (permissible) to consume, so no, you can't buy Halal pork.
That is correct naznomad, the pork eaten to survive becomes "Available" to eat but never Halal.
