Just been to a soft play centre where this teenage mum, looking lke a right chav, had a baby with her which was approximately 3-4 mths old. The baby was like a trophy, all dressed up in this ridiculous pink frilly number, fine for a christening or special event but soft play?! Anyway, this daft mum sat her baby on her friend's knee at the top of the slide, on the see saw, in the ball pool and in a toddler car. Was this for the babie's enjoyment? No of course not, she just wanted to take a photo with her expensive phone! Why oh why would you force a baby to do that at that age? The poor thing ended up crying every time.

it shows that even a "chav" mother can be proud of her child
I cannot see this as being totally awful tbh?? some mothers neglect the kids so at least this little one is getting lots of love and attention.
perhaps they had been to a special event? some baby girls are always in dresses and perhaps they didnt have anything else for baby to wear to a play centre

Aw im with the others we are all proud of our babies and show it in different ways-least she was looking after her baby and spending time with her.
Im not keen on other mums being judgemental about someone elses child raising preferences -you'd be very hurt if you thought she may have posted that she saw someone who was more interested in looking at other mums and not their own -see what i mean.....
well pointed out dris ;)
Let's not be too hard on tigwig here....we did not see it as she did.I can see where she is coming from...I see mums like that-where it seems the 'image' their little one presents is of utmost importance,Yet-they often do not pay the child the right kind of attention.
but you cannot make judgements on someone's child rearing ability based on a few glance's.
no one has been hard on her, people have just not agreed with her
I didnt think I was being personally hard on tigwig -I think I presented a very balanced viewpoint.Ive witnessed mums who think they are the only ones who have ever had children and that can be as annoying as one who treats their wee girl like a 'dolly'.
So long as no children were harmed in the posting of this thread i think perhaps some may appreciate its different strokes for different folks.:)
sounds like she was just showing off her princess
could of been a number of reasons why she was dressed up
think to label her a chav is a bit strong imo x

Well the chav bit was a joke you know. Be honest we all look at someone sometimes and think OMG. I wasn't saying she was a bad mother, just couldn't understand why she was making her small daughter do these things for her enjoyment not her babies lol.
And yes I did have plenty of time to stare at everyone else, I was bored rigid, my baby was asleep and 6yr old was playing happily so what else is there to do but people watch in these places?!
