Looking at the photo, this had nothing at all to do with halloween, there are no decorations or fancy dress. It wasn't even on Halloween. It was a rave on a Saturday night.

What will come on bonfire night? - Rain usually.
The unashamedly dishonest (sorry I meant 'creative') reporting of the Daily Mail hacks strikes again.

And as we see here, people pick up on it and propogate the deception.

Once you get people trained into this type of acceptance response you can keep doing it on matters trivial and important.
.
Same story in rhe Metro, no mention of Halloween

http://www.metro.co.u...-rave-crowd-in-london

The story came from the Press Association, no Halloween theme mentioed here

These parties probably take place every weekend.

Might as well have a go at the Telegraph then.

Sorry about the link, wrong one, but Sky news reported on it.

As did the Guardian.

The following was taken from another publication.

/// Despite the trouble, as the rave continued into the morning with deafening music blaring out, the atmosphere inside was said to be friendly. Hundreds of revellers spilled out onto New Oxford Street, many dressed in Halloween costumes. Ravers in boiler suits, bear suits, and jester costumes, and an array of hoodies, top hats, fluorescent caps and dreadlocks, were in the road.///

Before rejecting what I post Gromit, you should make sure of your argument, because it makes you look rather silly, when proven wrong.
Pity that the publications' photos which they published didn't show hundreds of people, many dressed in Hallow'en costumes, isn't it,AOG ? How many can you spot in the pictures ? It suggests that the report is a little exaggerated and tricked up to fit..

For a Hallowe'en night celebration they might have picked the right night, but we'll give them that. The standard of education is so low in this country, isn't it ? And fireworks parties aren't always on the 5th.

It's an illegal rave, pure and simple, such has happens all year. The date is not material and it isn't here. Can't see that a jester's costume or a boiler suit is peculiar to any date!
i've been to a fair few raves and dressing up was pretty popular. i expect it was a small minority that caused trouble, most just want to have a good night that's all
AOG

This was an illegal rave, something which happens all the time, it was nothing to do with halloween. All the photos show no one in halloween costumes (there appears to be a picture of a man dressed as a banana). I am not surprised at SKY getting it wrong, as they have a sensationalist style. The guardian should know better.

Going back to your question, are you anticipating more serious on Guy Fawkes Night, and what do you base that fear on? What was the point of your question? Was this just a 'youth of today are awful' type post?
I suspect the Guardian's phrase 'Halloween revellers' was simply a description of the time; they might equally have called them 'Saturday night revellers'. It doesn't sound as if this was a specifically Halloween event - there aren't a lot of pumpkins in the photos.
Gromit .>This was an illegal rave, something which happens all the time<

The promoter said this was the first such event in central London for nine years.

He must have been wrong, just as the Guardian was wrong, just as Sky was wrong.

I don't know why Reuters don't just get in touch with Gromit and co, if they want to gather the correct facts so as to distribute them world wide..

My sentence is true. I never said raves take place in central London all the time.

Have you still got your Pumpkin tree photo?, I remember it was excellent.
