he ssys we use 10 times more power than Sweden to heat our homes, well probably because the swedes built proper home to start with .
sure you can do all lot to cut down the waste of heat in a house but there are hundreds of thousands of us living if flats, tower blocks etc where there can be no retrofit of insulation except double glazing

Where as your anti British rhetoric will be attractive to some I can't see that it is valid. Ok they may all have very effeicient insulated homes in Sweden but that won't account for a factor of 10. So I suspect selective figure plucking here. On what are the figures based? KWH per person for example?
...... or perchance could it be that UK has about 10 times the population?

where's the anti British rhetoric? fella
pointing out that the swedes had far better insulated houses than us ??.anti rhetoric,
think you may have a problem yourself
"....well probably because the swedes built proper home to start with . ", might as well add the playground...na na nana na!

Per household? completely invalid then. How much power do they use per person? that's the relevant figure. Presumably Swedes have less people living alone in flats etc and more larger families/groups living in one house. So if I had more people in my house the heating bill would probably be less so QED. The only figure that is relevant is KWH spent on heating per person. I suspect we win on that one.

A large number of older British homes are built of solid stone or concrete with no cavity walling.

Councils have been given vasts amounts of public money to have their housing stock brought up to modern day standards, ie new roofs and the outside walls clad in thermal insulation blocks, to retain interior heat.

Whereas the owner occupiers have not even been offered part-grants to have their properties similarly insulated, so much for the Government's hypocritical concerns regarding 'global warming'
swedens domestic energy bills are higher than the uk.
that could be one of the reasons why they inslate more and use less.
