Mrs. Gibbons was released from prison having been granted a Presidential pardon. She was released into the care of the British embassy in Khartoum and later returned to her home town in Britain, after issuing a written statement saying: "I have a great respect for the Islamic religion and would not knowingly offend anyone."

still it was quite offensive to Islam, letting the kids name the teddy as they did!

Actually I agree, you would have thought a teacher would have a bit more sense than to insult someone in their own country.
