After promising he'd only buy one lottery ticket for his birthday, my friend's still buying them. . . . . .what can I do to make him realise there's like a one in a gazillion chance of him winning anything substancial.

For Christs sake leave him alone....My OH buys 2 for Friday, 2 for Saturday and 2 for Wednesday. It's not a problem unless he's robbing people to buy a ticket...something I doubt.
Well for a start the odds are better than that! It's his life and his money so why is this your problem?

Lisa
what's his income, and how many tickets is he buying a week?
Question Author
He's always complaining he has no money, and this is why, for all I know he's spending more a week than he gets for his paper round.
Assuming he's 16, I shouldn't imagine he has much access to money other than what he earns. As Ummmm says unless he's robbing little old Grannies on pension day it really is nothing to do with you!
it's quite difficult to spend more than you actually have..
but is it causing you any harm? Its his money, leave him be x
It's his money....non of your business.
Question Author
he has a bank account which he has access to, he could be spending more than he earns easily. He's my friend I don't want to see him broke.
Question Author
But he seems to happy that he jsut wasted his money again by buying another ticket.
lol....are you suggesting he might have an overdraft on paperboy wages????
Question Author
You haven't seen how addicted he is, and access to a bank account he's propably buying a whole sindicate to himself.
So how many tickets do you think he's buying a week?
With what money? The bank don't give it away...
Question Author
Yeah but he's probably using money from his bank account, he's only a reserve paperboy so doen't do a round every week.
Again....so what? It's nothing to do with you.
Question Author
I don't want to see him lsoe all his money.
That might teach him a lesson....
Question Author
He's meant to be saving up for a holiday, but unless he wins a lot he'll have less money than he started with.
Again - how many tickets do you think he's buying a week?
