Er, do prisons have private caterers? if so should it be them that are responsible.

If the prisoners do their own catering, then it is them who are to blame, and therefore should be charged with 'self inflicted injuries'

No from what I can remember the prisoners do their own cooking.
Then therefore it is their fault, end of.
a quick question off topic - when people say "end of" on this site does that mean that their last statement is all they are going to contribute to a particular thread OR that their answer is correct and no further debate is required?

back to the topic - I think they should receive their compensation a lifetime supply of egg sandwiches (to be delivered all at once and stored in their cell for the remainder of their stay)
Some of the prison staff were also taken ill. What were the screws doing eating the prisoners rations?
they would not get sick on bread and water though eh?

Generally when one says "end of"it means 'found the solution, full stop'.

You don't get rid of AOG that easily. End of.
If the food is provided from outside, the yes, compensation is appropruate.

The punbishment is incarceration, not food poisoning.

If the food was provided by the prisoners themselves, they need to take a colective action against their suppliers.
The scum in our prisons should be grateful for dodgy egg sarnies
