Anyone For "Sarah's Law"?

Yet another kiddie fiddler has managed to ply his evil trade and has been able to groom at least one more innocent child right under its mother's nose. He has been "severely punished" with a wet lettuce leaf and given 4 months inside. (He may well have been released by the time I've finished typing!)
It proves, does it not, that the present system is deeply flawed? Maybe the introduction of "Sarah's Law", where paedos are "named, shamed" and the address of the sewer they're presently living in is made known to the wider community, would nip such atrocities in the bud?
Or do the "bleeding hearts" win the day again by arguing that the "human rights" of the pervert are far more precious than the safety of innocent children? Woops, no, we daren't risk having vigilante patrols on the streets. No, let our kids suffer instead, eh?

In other words, for his son to indulge in homosexual acts because he's gay would be Wrong... but if he did it just to make money, that would be okay.

You're right that men fancy a whole range of women - from the voluptuous to the petite...but you can guarantee that if Cheryl Cole and Anne Widdicombe went clubbing together, Anne is more likely to be looking after the handbags.
Re: gay men propositioning - there you go...two in two decades. That says it all. You're a regular chap...you're not like a mate of mine who comes from Manchester and has a Christiano Ronaldo physique. Whenever we go out up town, it's almost a given that he'll be eyed up - that's the kind of person that gay men are (generally speaking) drawn to.

But I forget, your daughter wouldn't be gay would she because she would be brought up properly.
I have a cousin. Two of her children are straight and the other one gay. They all had a very good upbringing and have the same moral standards. They are all very respectable and likeable people and all have partners. All of them are equally treated by the rest of the family. What you advocate is that one of them should have been disowned?

I've only just tuned into his thread, so haven't read all the posts - far too many to go thro'! However, I cannot believe that anyone who loved their children 'unconditionally' would shun them if they came out as gay!
We have two daughters, both straight & married with two children each. If either had informed us that they were gay, even now, we would initially be shocked & upset, but it wouldn't change our love for them!

I wouldn't be shocked Smudge so much as upset. But upset for them because they might encounter the Joe Luke's of this world. One of my closest friends is gay and she was in tears when she told me after I had known her for some years because she thought I might not want her friendship any more. She needn't have worried, it made no difference whatsoever (and I wasn't at all worried that she might fancy me either!! :o) ). She is still a dear friend.

I know what you mean Lottie. What I meant was, that if we hadn't had the slightest inkling, we'd have been shocked (which we would have got over). But if we'd have had inklings, then we would have been, let's say, surprised.
I really do feel for anyone who's too embarrassed to tell their parents & others, that they are gay & tries to harbour their little 'secret' alone.
The story of the brilliant, although eccentric, Alan Turing (1912-54) is a classic example - he eventually commited suicide, mainly because he was shunned for being gay. Poor man!
