Hello and welcome......well as long as the ladies taking part are happy I don't see why not. I understand it's going to be included in the next Olympics.
Nothing like starting with a contentious question, redsilky! I don't personally like it, I wouldn't do it or go to watch it, but it's a free country.

thank you for the welcome.I thought I was ok with it, then my younger sister took it up. Not so sure now lol
Put simply - no, but that's not because it is being done by women, i don;t hink boxing done by anyone is a good idea.

The essential aspect of boxing is to secure 'points' by hitting someone about the face and body - outside the ring, that's called 'Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm' and it's an offence.

The primary object is to secure a win by a 'kock-out'. This is achieved by hitting someone's skull so hard that the brain presses against the bones of the skull resulting in at least unconciousness, and with a real prospect of brain damage - outside the ring, assaulting someone to the extent that they are beaten unconcious would very likely result in a criminal record.

The whole concept is barbaric, and the notion that women are being encouraged is a retrograde steip in our civilised society.

So, no it is not OK, and no it should not be allowed.
If its like this then why not.

Women boxing
personally I dont see why boxing is a sport all together. Beating someone up. when if you did that out of the ring you'd be arrested. Doesnt stop me watching it though :-)
Got a bit carried away there, and may have inadvertently strayed into a whole new sporting arena - the idea is 'knock out' and not ... what I said by mistake!

andy, I am shocked.. lol!!
Why sara? Are you worried that this means I won't be up for a bit of rough and tumble in the bedroom? It's OK, that's different!!!!
andy - your version of boxing sounds more entertaining than the normal type.

I think that it is barbaric and horrible to watch - but if the guys can do it why not us girls?
LMAO @ Andy.

I didn't even spot that the first time I looked :)

Bring back bare knuckle boxing and lets get back to the blood and gore of the sport.
I like heavy weight boxing, I think the rest is a bit dull so no, women boxing shouldn't be allowed because it bores me.... Bit like womens football and rugby (oh it really is, don't hark on!).... Mind you, I'm a bit of a perve so you might want to take that in to consideration as well.
