Two women have been arrested for trying to push a dead relative strapped to a wheelchair onto a Berlin-bound flight at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Officers arrested the two women, aged 44 and 66, on suspicion of failing to give notification of a death.

Did these two women do anything immoral and roughly how much in money terms would they have saved had they “got away with it” ?

Well assuming the only reason was to get the body home without paying undertaking charges I'd say well done very creative they probably saved £500. We spend far too much on death. Ever seen a poor undertaker?
Ryanair would have been cheaper. Judging from my experience of the service they provide, they'd hardly have noticed that a passenger was dead.
Hello, Sandy-wroe. Your reply made me laugh. It's very true.
Wrong in every way! Bit of the National Lampoons about it ;0/

The man's death could have been foul play, anything is possible these days.
maybe he was alive when they go to the airport and died of old age whilst waiting.

your theory would have carried more weight if it had been BA !
Oh Sachs - I'd forgotton about that film. Brilliant!!!! Now I'm going to have to find it on DVD.
If he's uninsured (aged 91 very likely) then they'd have saved a small fortune, repatriating a dead body is very expensive, the casket has to lead lined and all kinds of things.
If it was April 1st you wouldn't believe it.
Staff were suspicious because "he did not appear to be moving very much".

So was he moving a little bit then ?

I mean ... he was DEAD !!

Might have been Wind ?
Just watched local news & the 2 women are thinking of trying to get money out of the police - what a joke -

northern,

What a bl**dy cheek - trouble is even when the police pay out, they never do - its us the taxpayer what pays !

But what If the 2 women involved or any of the relations dont have the money to pay the costs of the correct disposal of the diseased - what happens next ?
The TV news says they are now thinking of holding the funeral in the UK - it does sounds as if they can't afford to repatriate the old man's body. If he was indeed dead before they left home, I don't know how they thought they'd get away with it - how would he get up the stairs or into his seat without being (wo)manhandled?
They could do a back garden cremation and take him home in a jar.
he was diseased!!
..or just Late...
Bet the two of them do a runner if they're out on bail and go back to their beloved homeland without the old boy
Unbelievable - how on earth did they expect to get away with it. I have just read the story online. These women must have had some bottle to do it though.
The local medic says the chap had 'shuffled of his mortal coil' anything up to 24 before this incident..............however, the two women are claiming that he was alive in the taxi to the airport !!

Go figure..........
