One for AOG:

// A doctor accused of failing to spot that Baby P was being abused fled the country this morning ahead of a hearing where she is charged with misconduct.

Rebecca Poulet, QC, prosecuting for the GMC said that Dr Al-Zayyat was seen by a psychiatrist on Friday but had since left Britain.

The GMC’s fitness to practice panel, sitting in London, has adjourned to consider whether the public hearing can continue in the doctor’s absence. //

I agree with No Knowledge.

SP, A little boy is dead, and all you can do is try to make some sort of politically correct intellectual high ground? Well, you've failed. Your remarks are disgraceful.
once again i disagree with SP. Where has she fled to, can she be extradited?
I'm with you No Knowledge, sometimes it makes you wonder whether some (not all) foreign doctors don't educate to a proper standard and buy their medical certificates?
Seadragon....she worked at a very prestigious children's hospital..Great Ormond Street..........they would have checked her credentials.
why would anyone defend this one, maybe the people doing so are race motivated?
She's not accused of murder or manslaughter. Her professional body is reviewing whether she is guilty of misconduct, for which she could be "struck off". There are no grounds for her to be extradited.
she has applied for work in Ireland, but I don't know if she's there at the moment.

Why would anyone defend her? Possibly because she's innocent until proven guilty? Or are British standards of justice inappropriate for doctors with foreign names?
60 visits from Social Security.......no abuse spotted.

One visit to Dr Al Zayyat...............no abuse spotted.

All doctors miss medical and surgical conditions.

She, the Dr. is going to be "hung out to dry"

Wise move on her part to flee.
she failed to spot a broken spine, I wouldn't want her looking after me! And i think fleeing the country is an admission of guilt , is it not?
The doctor's ethnicity is irrelevant. The fact is that when this child was examined he had numerous injuries, including a broken back, which she failed to spot. Therefore she was negligent - and since she's scarpered, it would appear that she is well aware of that. Her lack of action is indefensible.
admarlow:

Broken spines have been missed.
Broken skulls have been missed.
Internal bleedings have been missed.
Meningitis has been missed.

Drs at some time has missed all medical conditions.

I agree that fleeing doesn't look good...........but may turn out to have been a wise move.
..unless you are a left wing moron who thinks that her race means she should not be brought to justice, just those evil white blokes.
>That would literally be 'the perfect storm' for the right whingers.

Oh so left whingers are quite happy about bad doctors, and benefit fraudsters and housing benefit fraudsters and rampant immigration and muslim terrorists.

According to you its only "tories" who get unhappy about those things.

No wonder the country is in such a mess as "left wing" labour have been running it for over 10 years (or at least saying they are running it). Personally I think they have just sat back and let everyone get on with it, which is why it is in such a mess.
lordy, when I think how perfect the country was 20 years ago... you shoulda been here, sp1814, milk and honey everywhere, the Tory fairy handed out sweeties to the elderly on street corners and Anneka Rice was on telly...
I think it was more line 50 years ago jno, now the early 60's were good!! Plenty of NHS doctors to go round, not much traffic, houses for most people and lots being built on non green belt land, no mobile phones, no radio waves, double lessons of PE at school, yes that exercise thing that they did then. Obesity?? What was that.
Sqad, I speak without any medical authority, but how on earth can a doctor miss a broken spine or broken skull? The Doctor must be negligent in not carrying out proper examinations?

And it is my opinion that some people, especially well off families can purchase medical qualifications abroad so even if credentials are checked the paper is worthless.
How true ^^^^^
