Lottery Millions
Would it be better if we had 56 winners of one million pound each rather than one multimillionaire winning the lot ?

the lottery would have to be changed as to the way it works for that idea to come about .
for instance currently if you get all 6 numbers you win but to share it out equaly with anyone who has also got all six numbers .
to share it out at 1 million per person the 5 number winners would have to be counted " to find the rest of the million pound winners" but say there were 65 5 number winners and only 1 6 number winner , who would you choose to get the reward for 5 numbers and the million pound winners ?
it would be very confussing and there would bound to be resentment from those who got less.
although the idea is nice as in fair play everyone gets a nice lump sum , it is a very hard system to try to impliment hence the current way is simpler and leaves less chance of " people saying swindle"

the only simple way to change the current system would be to make the lower grouped numbers pay a higher dividend for instance 3 numbers now pays £10 and so on , under a new system the 3 numbers would pay " for instance £15 " this however would have a large nock on effect to the higher stakes that could be won , reducing the jackpot considerably.
however it should be noted that there have been occassions when a large number have won the " jackpot" and the 5 number winners have won more than the 6 number winners.

the idea of a re-draw would have to be thought though very long as some people would want their 3 numbers to pay out on the second draw and so on therefore a potencial pot of say for instance " 56 million " paying out originaly to all . would suddenly become a pot of for instance 5 million max to the 6 number winners .

the idea was to create an income to save the governemnt having to " fork out " a good causes income as they call it . it also creates revenue for the tax man im sure .
by doing a second draw on teh original amount of cash in the pot simply takes out from the original pot and creates no further income. it will never be done as the tax man teh good causes and the lottery company all want the extra income generated by the roll over.
i have no clue as to the numbers but im sure it must be near double the amount invested in a roll over than the number who play just the normal single winning amount .. the jackpot usualy more than doubles so it must be about that.

your idea of all who didnt win becoming winners leaves this arguement back onto the table ... sorry mate i like the idea but it could not work

another point to look at with teh redraw idea is this ..
the game is all based on " luck " some people have lucky numbers ...
say the draw was the 26th to be done and someones lucky number was 27 so they expected the 27th draw to be their lucky one ...
but there was no 6 number winners in the 26th draw so a redraw just for the jackpot came out and that would now be game number 27 ...
the person with the lucky number of 27 gets 5 of the 6 numbers but not the sixth so they won nothing ...
the question then is , is this person going to feel cheated from their win as their lucky draw was changed to Only the jackpot.

how about the other people who won the first time and got say £10 for 3 numbers
and on teh second draw got all 6 numbers ... how much would they win ..
would you say they were not allowed to play the second draw ?
after all their money went into the same pot as did the people who did not win anything
