My BF is a francophile - he lived in Paris for a few years, then Normandy. He thinks when it comes to illegal immigrants, crime, and the above situation with the bhurkas, the French certainly have the right idea. They are not as soft and stupid as our Government. He intends to live there again one day, or certainly to leave this country, and I can't say I blame him - it's only getting worse each day.

Yes - I do think they should be banned, but the UK will never do it - too scared of causing offence.

I've said it before and I will say it again - have these burka clad ladies never experienced a hot flush ?
They have fans hidden underneath their skirts Den....
report has proposed a ban in hospitals, schools, government offices and on public transport.

I did just scan the report before vibes, but it appears the ban would be for all the above?

liberté, egalité, fraternité ou la mort.

liberty - being able to do anything that does not harm others

equality - the law must be the same for all, whether it protects or punishes. all citizens, being equal in its eyes, shall be equally eligible to all high offices, public positions and employments, according to their ability, and without other distinction than that of their virtues and talents.

fraternity - brotherhood

ou la mort - eh? trouble? an invasion? quick jean pierre run away run away.

i guess fraternity is the ‘get out’ clause for the horse eating onion selling garlic crushers.
I always feel quite sorry for them when I see a woman wearing a burka. Not being able to experience different types of clothing, colours, shoes etc - most women like to dress up when they go out. Some Muslim women wear lovely colourful head scarves, but its beyond me why others choose to be completely covered, apart from their eyes, I just think its a real shame.
pussy, over half of the population in France are Muslim? Where do you get that from?
As I have said before, it is a cultural thing much like the Jewish Orthodox , the male decrees the woman cover up so as not to be appealing to someone of the oppisite sex and this is entrenched in their beliefs and has to be adhered to from puberty

Afternoon Joy - I thought it was still a woman's choice though - if they choose just to cover their head or go for the full monty.
it all depends I think DEN, I would imagine some husbands are more liberal than othes and would allow it
