Brown said in July 2009

/// He repeated a pledge that troop numbers would be reviewed after the Afghanistan election – though this is likely to lead to a reduction – and insisted military commanders had reassured him "we have the manpower we need for the current operations"////.

Now in Dec 2009

What proof have we that these three key conditions have been met, especially those promises of NATO doing their fair share?

Or is our willingness to send more troops, because Barack Obama has finally made his mind up to send more US troops, and puppet Brown has now got to reciprocate?

There seems to be a consensus that more troops are needed to finish off the job. Obama has been dragging his feet because it is coming apparent that Mohamed Khazi is corrupt and has stolen the election.

Can we be bothered sorting that out, or do we exit asap. The extra troops would indicate it is probably the latter.
AOG....too late now mate, we have to go and finish the job"whatever it takes"............my opinion.
In the "France 24",French news in English, web site, Hillary Clinton has asked France for 1,500 more troops. Sakozy's government has insisted it has no plans to increase the number.
So far, according to the same article, only Britain, Italy and Macedonia have agreed to send reinforcements.
Seems to be a long way from browns criteria being met.

Thank you for that informative answer vulcan42.

1/ Have the Afghan government committed to provide sufficient home-grown troops for training?

2/ Are the British forces now adequately equipped?

3/ What other countries are bearing their "fair share", who they are and how many troops are they sending?

It is these questions that should be asked either by the media or in the house, but I don't suppose they will be.

In the meantime the French and Germans along with others, will continue to *** a snook, while Brown continues to risk even more British lives, on Barack's orders.

There seems to be a correlation between a countrys activity in these Middle East wars and the drag on their economy. France, Germany and Japan are doing quite well thank you. But the UK is bottom of the heap out of the 20 top nations in the world. Yes BOTTOM!

Can this be due to our over exposure to these unjustified wars costing tens of £bns.

You could be right rov.

I have said for a long time,

1/ Stop trying to police the world

2/ Get rid of our "Europe" yolk.

3/ Stop mass immigration.

4/ Stop being subordinate to the US.

What a wealthy country we would be.

//// to help the tally-man properly, is this design on the back as well as the front? ///

Well I only hope all you true Brits have read Mohammed Zeuhl disgusting post, that assumes our troops are retreating cowards, will now come forward and heartily condemn him.

I only hope, the real coward that he is who hides behind a web site such as this, could be flushed out and kicked out of the country.

But if he is in fact one of our home grown fanatics, then we could perhaps kick him out of a transport plane behind enemy lines, out over Afghan, preferably facing our troops and with the T/Sugar on anyway he dares to wear it.

I would be interested if you have a link that proves we are 20th in the list of world economies. Everything I can find indicates we are 6th (which isn't bad for our size), in front of Italy, Spain, Canada, Sweden and Norway.

Please supply a link to your information.

Morning I am back.

Britain finally paid off the loan 3 years ago.

/// The implication of a target on the back is that they sneak up behind our troops! ///

This may be your way of wriggling out of your disgusting insinuation, but I am afraid it cuts no ice with me.

Therefore in this instance I feel there is no obligation on my part to make any form of apology.

Perhaps now it is you that should apologise to all those troops out there, their families, friends and the rest of ABers who fully support our brave troops.

Although judging by the lack of condemnation, it is a sad fact that there don't seem to be any on this site.
