Why was this Teacher treated so lenient regarding further contact with her victim?

If this teacher had been Male would he have been treated in the same way? I doubt it, he would have been accused of abusing his position as a teacher to entrap an underaged boy. He would have also been labelled a Paedophile and put on the sexual offenders list for many years.

The Judge rejected a prosecution request to ban the teacher from contacting her victim for five years, claiming it would be 'unnecessary, unkind, and cruel to the victim'.

Goddard will be allowed to write to her from prison and will be able to see her in private the moment she is released from jail, probably halfway through her 15-month sentence.

The teacher punched the air in victory when she realised her relationship with the pupil, who is still underage, could continue.

The judge refused to ban Goddard from ever being alone with under-age girls, rejecting another prosecution request.

god old Britsh justice sigh
I think you will find that she is barred from teaching and is on the sex offenders register.....
The woman in the report has been placed on the sex offenders register and is banned from teaching children for life. She has also been imprisoned.Where does that differ from how a male teacher would have been treated?

Without knowing too much in what lesbians get up to in private insertion of a tool or implement somehow seems less offensive than penetration by a penis. Personally I think the sentence should reflect this. Also it seems the pupil has lesbian tendencies so she has some sense of fun without losing her virginity if she decides to switch later.
