Well, I might not agree with his politics but I think that you'd find it hard to find anyone (from any political party or from any branch of the media) who would say that Tony Benn ever suffered from a loss of integrity.

Chris
margaret thatcher had integrity and look what the other politicians in her own party did to her.. she was the best PM this country has ever had and she was ousted out by sleazy politicians without an ounce of integrity between them..

Once you are in the Cabinet, you are expected to be more of a team player than you were before.

It is difficult to maintain your personal integrity, when sometimes you have to go along with cabinet and policy decisions you may personally not agree with.

i must agree with you buenchico...i forgot about tony benn, and thinking about it Aneurin bevan as well!
and sammmo, if thatcher had integrity so did hitler. they were cast out of the same mould!
Benn tried and failed to close the pirate radio stations in the late sixties.

A minor blemish on an otherwise outstanding CV.
