The war in IRAQ ,allegedly was started over 'Terrorists ', their ARMY was defeated, now the fighting is with some INSURGENTS,,,,,, dont know if thats the right spelling, what does it mean ? in which group would you place ' a suicide bomber '?...... and if this last group are defeated, are there others, with different 'names ' that will make this war continue?

I believe resistance in Iraq is split into 2 groups, first the remnants of saddams military who do not wish to submit to US rule/occupation, and secondly muslim extremists who want to destroy most non-muslims. The extent to which the 2 are cooperating is unknown to me, but I would interested in knowing.

Insurgent is a generic term for someone resisting - however not all the iraqis are terrorists so they cant call them that, nor can they call them the resistance as that adds a certain glamour and identity to the struggle.

thanks  el duerino,  in now knowing why this group are called insurgents  instead of ' resistance fighters ' ( which does sound more 'glamorous than insurgent ) .. was that one word purposely choosen/selected by the Americans ,  simply for the reason you say ?  if so, now go back to my question ' mind over matter,,,,,,, or is it mind control ?
first of all i think the war on iraq should have ended the day they caught sadam hussein. all the US soilders are doing is demolishing the land, n once there're throught with that they'll leave it to the iraq's to pick up the pieces, i know that iraq was a dangerous place to live in before all this anyway but during the war thousands of people have died by the hands of the US and British army. the only thing G. Bush is going to get from this war is oil, i think thats why the war is going on for so long. hostages have been captured and beheaded, is it really worth risking the lives of innocent people even after the man they were looking for has been captured?? i dont think so.
