Well, it's travel for me...

Any hints on what to see, where to go, how to do, what to avoid?  Pubs, clubs, shops, tours, places etc would be most welcome.  It's a weekend trip, in Sunday morning from Dublin, see the match and out Sunday night.

All suggestions (even ironic ones) appreciated...

I've had a few good Sunday evenings in the fancy bars up by the Millennium Bridge, followed by a night out in Buffalo Joe's.

Bob Trollops on the Quayside is a nice place for couple of beers.  Food's excellent & cheap too, though I think it's just a veggie menu (I wouldn't let that put you off though - it's not your usual veggie-therefore-must-be-on-a-diet-menu, you'll come out feeling stuffed).

For a full-on Newcastle experience visit the Bigg Market.  You'll need your drinking head on tho.  You've probably seen this area featured on various documentaries where the TV cameras follow the police around.
