It's difficult isn't it, because what one person classes as being "more" in terms of money, another wouldn't - and what's he comparing it against? Someone who works for us was off work for 5 weeks - also with a back injury - and then they went onto more long-term benefits because of compllications. The money he received wasn't enough for him to live decently on, and we subsidised him until he was able to return to work eventually. In your case, are you just annoyed by what he said to your son, or do you think he's genuinely pulling a fast one? I believe there are benefit cheat lines which you can contact, but personally, I couldn't even think of doing that without knowing the full circumstances.
