Does anyone remember 'Today' newspaper. I think it came in the the mid 80s. It was the first newspaper to boast to have colour pictures. Whatever happened to it?

Yeah, i remember it. My Nan used to get it, it was tabloid size and i think it was discontinued in the early nineties. The 'Today' title used to be in blue. Can't remember why they discontinued it.........i was only a little 'un then!

It was supposed to have been an independent newspaper.  Perhaps that's why it didn't sell many copies.
Eddie Shah's newspaper Today was published in 1986 as the first colour national daily (The Independent was launched the same year). Today was sold to News International in 1987 and Rupert Murdoch closed it in November 1995.
It was also the first and only paper to boast ink that did not rub off on your hands!
