A man with some faults but a brilliant achiever. And he had the good grace to accept defeat when it was deserved (the one big difference between him and Fergie - that, and the megalomaniac tendencies). Give me Cloughie over Moaninho any day. Move over God, there's a new boss in town!
A man with faults - but who hasn't. Messrs Clough and Taylor were the best thing ever to happen to the County of Derbyshire.
RIP Brian, sadly missed and never forgotten.
I loved that comment he once made about him and a player sitting down to discuss something they've disagreed one...'and then we agree that I was right'. Or something like that. And he was the only man who could have tamed Roy Keane. Him and Fergie.
I grew up in the fabulous days of the 1970's when Brian Clough and Peter Taylor transformed the Rams from Journeymen to the League Title. I have very fond memories of that " Golden " era . The tributes at Derby and Forest are very moving and both cities are ( for once ) united in remembering a great man.
I've read elsewhere (and completely agree) : thankfully he never managed England. You guys might have won something!! "I wouldn't say I was the best manager, but I'm in the top 1"
