Is normal sexuality ok?

Is it just homosexuality or should ALL kissing be banned?
btw - haven't seen the advert and can't find it on youtube.
It's a peck. Hardly porn. I don't see anything offensive in it.

Having said that, I don't want to see anybody having sex on my tv, whether straight or gay. I am not a voyeur. I just switch off.

So, I am a prude, but I see nothing in this ad that offends me.

well it has got kids in it that cant be right........
Why because kids can't have gay parents?
Question Author
no oneyevic, this advert should not use kids and homosexuality in the same vein....am i missing something here?....or has everybody gone hand in hand with the pc brigade....homosexuality is still a sin in the eyes of god......and those gay vicars are a disgrace as well........
Well it's done the job cos your talking about it thus carrying on free advertising for them.

If you watch the advert properly it's trying to tell you that it is authentic tasting deli mayo like what you get in a deli in New York, which you can re-create in your own kitchen which is why the Mum is depicted as a NY deli owner. It's not really about 2 men kissing, thats just for effect (and shock value obviously judging by your post and the kids comment)

I think that's what it's trying to tell us anyway. Have I got the jist of it or am I totally off the ball here?

Either way the caramilised onion one looks quite tasty.....
has everybody gone hand in hand with the pc brigade

Next thing you know, they'll be getting married.......
I totally agree with this post because I am offended. I have nothing against homosexuality, but as a normal practising (when I get the chance) heterosexual I find men kissing something I do not want to see.

Had it been a peck on the cheek job, I might have laughed, but this made me want to throw up.

thank you postdog....at last someone sane........
WHICH I DO NOT,I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THIS ON MY TV AT 9.00 IN THE EVENING.

Methinks thou doth protest too much!

I have to say, stoke, your overblown response kind of reminds me of those kids I knew at school who were suspiciously boisterous about their own heterosexuality. IN A TOTALLY NOT GAY WAY. NO NO WAY. NOOOOOO EEEW.

I think you should just grow a skin. God knows gays have happily gone along with men kissing women in just about every mainstream advert around (well, except one in 2003.)

One thing though, I can't actually follow how the gay relationship works into the advert's theme of 'New York Deli' . But hey it isn't as ludicrously abstract as some adverts out there.
But I don't think the advert is even about gays kissing!! The Deli man is the wife, so they kiss, it's all meant as a joke.
It's an added bit to get people talking about the advert surely? or am I not seeing something in that advert that others are??
MV BBDO said that the concept behind the campaign is that the product tastes so good "It's as if you have your own New York deli man in your kitchen".

So the family would rather have this rather unattractive guy with the New York accent in the kitchen than mum, because his food is soooo good.

They are not promoting homosexual relationships - you can see the 'dad' is reluctant to kiss him.

It is all rather tongue in cheek. Not in mouths.
wingnut: You wrote your original post as I was writing mine (I sometimes take a while posting), thus I didn't see your theory.

Now that I have, I think you're absolutely right.

KROMOVARACUN i do not need to ''grow a skin'' as you put it it is thick enough thank you,i like a laugh, i play practical jokes on people and laugh when my 'victims' get revenge,i love football, boxing, horse racing and seen things that would make your stomach churn, but I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THIS..................
Well bully for the gays going along with it! I must admit, I have never ever considered that they may be offended by what is normal behaviour. And do you know what, I don't think I will again either.

I don't think it is supposed to be a gay relationship - I got the impression it was supposed to be "mum", but used an NY deli chef to hammer home the product.

Get real, homosexuality has always been around, no-one can deny, but it is not natural when compared to the millions of hetero relationships, without whom none of us would be here.
Postdog - quite a few test tube babies would still be here. They were born without the 'normal' heterosexual relationship.
:)

Thanks for posting this, stoke.

It delights me how much this annoys you.
