What about people who refuse to toe the line, and answer something like "It depends"
^ It depends..........
No. No tax = no health service, no schools, no pensions, no benefits, no police, no fire service....= anarchy and chaos
Yes if it meant getting away with it and government still being ok then yer. But unfortunately it doesnt and that is why we have the credit crunch because of people that wont abide by the rules.

There is always one lol

If you had the chance to earn cash and pay no tax would you?
Yes!!!
If it didnt change a thing then yes. But if it didnt we wouldnt need taxes so no. Oh I dont know.

Health Service dont make me laugh

Our taxes and NI go down a big hole in the ground.

Like when I slipped a disc and asked for some physio and the Dr said "you'll have to wait 6 weeks so just pay yourself"

Question Author
Well done funny girl lol

Im glad to see there are so many pillars of the community who would go straight to the taxman and say

"Sir you didnt know I had this 200 but I thought I should make you aware so I can give you a quarter of it"
Sometimes you have no choice if you miss the last bus.
:-)

I work fulltime pay tax NI etc but also DJ so dont bother declaring it.

Whoppe do
Two years ago I wrote to the taxman and told him I owed 70, through closing a bank account in the wrong month. I sent him all the figures and my calculations.

He wrote back and said I actually owed 56.

So no, I wouldn't.
Rev, you have already stated that you do pay tax on your main wage, but aren't going to trouble the taxman with your nocturnal earnings.

Is your scenario a similar situation ?

I'm sure that there have been quite a few of us on here who, having paid a substantial amount on our main wage are quite happy to keep 'a little tickle' for ourselves..........However, I would be concerned that doing so regularly for quite large amounts could come back to bite me on the ar$e.

So, I suppose my answer would be 'yes, but not for much and not for long'............:o)

Am I going to Hell ???
As said previously, no

No taxes =

No free doctor
No pay for time off if ill
No dustbin collection
No street lighting
No police / fire / ambulance
No schools

etc etc etc

I just find it hard to comprehend why people would want to pay tax on a supplementary income when there is very little chance of being caught.

Bit like going to the police and saying Ive run a red light, you didnt see me but please give me 3 points

The amount I am talking about is probably 200 a week which I dont declare
Question Author
Vic

I get stopped over a 100 a week on my delared wage.

I chose not to declare a supplementary cash income
Yes.

Your example doesn't work - a better analogy would be:

I am saying I wouldn't drive through a red light.

You are saying that you are happy to drive through a red light as there is little chance of getting caught.

I just wish I was perfect
Again, I ask you - do you think that benefit frauds are okay - ie someone who works in a pub cash in hand, but also claims dole.
