...from al quada, hardly the best spokes-people for Islam in general. Its a bit like the Ku Klux Klan speaking on behalf of the CofE.
We would respond by restricting the freedoms of our own people and introducing a load of new laws giving the Government unrestricted powers to pry into our business and the ability to lock us up for no reason for several months.

Meanwhile, al queda would be save in their caves laughing their sandals off at how easy they can make our government do their job for them.

you know gromit you're spot on, how long before we have to go through the airport B0ll0ck naked??!
how long before we have to go through the airport B0ll0ck naked - maybe there is a conspiracy theory with Naturists and Al Qaeda getting together to mastermind exactly that.
Al-Qaeda = American Agents.

Equation is very simple. many have worked it out and few more soon will. Rest of them would be ignorant forever. Americans over the history have always created villains just to become heroes. Usually these villains remain in their control. But one thing Americans have never learnt even after past experiences, that few people end up believing in these artificial heroes as real ones. Unfortunately those people are not known and in control of Americans. Otherwise I do not think you have to be a rocket scientist to understand all of 9/11 controversy where first time in the history a building collapsed due to fire and a whole plane evaporated outside pentagon.
On an NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) warfare course about 9 years ago we were told that during the cold war the Soviet Union developed a nuclear device that could fit in a briefcase, these were sent to agents in western countries to be used in the event of a war between the Warsaw Pact and Nato in places like a locker at a train/tube station in London, near the City. The explosion would devastate an area about one square mile and cripple the countries economy.

130 of these were manufactured, and at the end of the cold war they were recalled by the KGB, however only 113 were returned, which leaves a discrepancy of 17 which are out there somewhere. It's thought that the KGB kept these 'just in case' they were needed.

Now I don't want to frighten you guys, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a renegade Russian agent could sell one to an Al Qaeda operative is it seeing as Bin Liner is a rich rich arab?
Heree you go Geezer

Anything to make your day
Really 4GS

You wouldn't have been told this by the same people that told everyone that Iraq could launch a WMD attack on the UK in under an hour?
No, that was government lies, the guys instructing on this course were all Army, except one RAF guy
Government Lies? - I recall it was based on work from the security services specifically with John Scarlett now head of the SIS who will be providing your military chums with their intelligence.

Unless the Armed Forces have taken up spying in their spare time!

I take it they showed you evidence for this claim or they just expected you to believe everything they told you?

I know it's awfully naughty but intelligence agencies do tell fibs from time to time you know!

PS I doubt such a nuclear device would be viable without maintenance after nearly a decade and there are a lot easier places to get dirty bomb material from

Al Quaeda would most like use a dirty bomb attack (one where radioactive material is used with conventional explosives).

When the US invaded Iraq, hospitals and medical centres were left unguarded and were looted of radioactive devices.

This is of potentially greater risk that the ubiquitous fictional WMDs.
I agree - you don't even have to use much.

It's not the fall out that'd do the damage but the blind fear and panic that such an attack would have.

You just have to get people to believe that you have the capability

Oh that'd be the idea behind this video then

So the answer to the question would be that we should respond by not listening to hysterical panic-mongers
Left? Right? or a pacifist Jake?
Jakes link is good. I would like to see same kind of links with people condemning innocent killings in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

4GS If Russians had to use nuclear devices then the highest risk was they could have used it in Afghanistan where after defeat the federation fell apart. Only American have in the history of warfare used almost all sorts of weapons so far and the chances are they are the only ones who would use it again. No wonder they are not willing to sign CTBT or whatever it is called and are reserving the right of First Attack if they suspect that a country may be of a danger to their interests. Trust me even if a nuclear device does go off in London then there are more chance of Americans being behind it to put blame on someone else than any one else.

You guys might have heard it on websites but being a Pakistani myself I have strong reasons to believe that Osama bin Laden & CO are being looked after by CIA & Americans because they are giving them good reasons to invade any country.

1 - Where there is Oil, there is Al qaeeda, and where there is Al Qaeeda world need Bush & CO to save them.
2 You are either with us or against us. Countries have no choice, Anyone who does not agree with Bush & CO is a terrorist. Simple equation.
Jake,
There's a whole world of difference between Army instructors telling us how to keep alive in a hostile environment whist at the same time adding some background information, and a politician (Blair) hell bent on an agenda to involve this country in an illegal war . Most of us at time, especially those of us who had fought the Iraqis in the first Gulf war knew that the Iraqis would have been hard pushed to re-arm their conventional forces, let alone build up WMD
Also, it's quite possible for the Kremlin/KGB/Putin to covertly order those 17 weapons I mentioned in my first post on this subject to be maintained and ready to use, or do you really believe that the Russian authorities are above such dark deeds?

Thousands protested against the invasion of Iraq. Can you show me Tens of Muslims who have demonstrated against Islam terror ?
On that point Keyplus the same could be said of Bin Laden.
Join Islam or die.
There will always be some one who wants to rule the world, one way or another. It human nature to be oppressive of others. The question is how much longer will it be before someone eventually kicks off and we all end up glowing in the dark.
Unfortunatly my money at the moment is on BinLaden rather than Bush. Simply because his cause is more to do with all or nothing. Bush on the other hand is a puppet controlled by those who would lie and slap you on the back of the head when your not looking rather than front up for the big one.
But my old dad used to say "Never mind the Yanks or the Reds, It's the yellow peril you have to watch."
Lucky for us China is a little pre occupied right now.
Lets hope neither Bush or his pal Bin Laden don't get silly and try laying down the law to them.
