On me way home at about 1730 and heard on Radio Cumbria that a Moron had filmed himself, using a Mobile Phone, kicking a lamb to death!!

My blood runs cold as I type this and the tears well up!!
Can England have come to this??

The lamb was paralized and had to be put down.

I would genuinely love to do the same to the Moron, in public, with others but we must be above this sort of reaction, they say!!!
When will the "worm turn" and we can be rid of such scum!!

to be honest i would like to see them get the birch, a good flogging in public would stop some of scum from harming animals and other people. but the PC brigade and the loony left will never allow it.
Why must we be above that kind of thing? If you ask me, it's too much of the "turn the other cheek" attitude that has helped fuel bad behaviour.
He should be shot. In the head. Several times - just to make sure. I'd do it.
The reason we adopt the 'civilised' approach is so that we don't end up with mob mentality ruling judicial proceedings. It's an easy direction to go down, and once you start it's very difficult to stop. Then you have rule of mob. And that's one of the worst things that can happen to a country.

Plus a fair trial is necessary (with right of appeal). Naturally, you'll slap your temple and proclaim it defies common sense, but I think it makes a good deal more sense to really ensure that you've got the right person.

Before anyone leaps on their high horse to accuse me of being a 'loonie lefty' - can I point out that it was just a lamb?
The lack of serious repercussions, reprisals and threat of physical danger on this moron is why he chose to kick a lamb to death and not an 18 stone kung-fu champion.

Until people like this receive a serious shoeing in a dark alley from a group of like minded people then it will continue to carry on.

Yes, I'm aware that lynch mob vigilantism has its own set of problems, but with proper organisation and structure idiots like this may think of serious consequences before doing what the hell they like; the law simply does not go far enough, isnt a deterant and is a spent force in controlling this countries yob culture.
Deterrence isn't all of it though. People commit crimes based on whether they think they'll get caught more than the penalties (despite all the problems with the prison system, nobody wants to go into it). Thus - as with most things - the way to prevent people commiting crimes is via education.

Granted harsher sentences are needed, but that's not an excuse to bring the judiciary down to mob mentality. Particularly when it's that kind of mentality that could end up destroying it.

If anyone wanted a link

Doesn't sound like they've founf the teenagers in question yet, but with video evidence circulating you'd think that it might not be too long

Sentencing for this should be a hefty load of community work and a substantial fine in my opinion. Perhaps enforced community work at an animal shelter so he can learn the value of life.

"Just a lamb" Kromovaracun? Oh that's alright then.
"Can England have come to this??"

Why does any piece of unacceptable behaviour have to turn into a state of the nation wail?

People have done horrific things since the dawn of time. Try not to base you perception of the olden days on Oscar Wilde plays and The Archers.

That said, it's still disgraceful behaviour.
What were those things that used to be in the village square in the old days? A post with a board across the top where you had your head and hands clamped down ,where you were left for days while people threw rubbish and other unsavoury items at you.
the stocks and pillory?
Problem lies in the last paragraph of that link which reads like this.

"The Ormsby Hall has historically been plagued by youths drinking and causing trouble - but this was the most disturbing incident."
ah yes the days of the stocks and hanging and mobs of angry villagers with burning sticks - they were the good old days and crime was kept at zero by those sensible measures
What would make me feel a lot safer would be crowds of people wandering around dishing out violent justice to their enemies, or people who have wronged them. I only hope that their heads don't explode when they try to figure out exactly how they became one of the yob gangs that they so despise.
can I point out that it was just a lamb?

One of the most callous things i've seen written here for quite a while.....
Only a lamb! That's Ok then!!!!
What a stupid comment to make, btw..... below is just one of many articles that you can read on animal abuse and it's links to future behaviour patterns......

http://www.psychological.com/blog/index.php?/a rchives/120-Animal-Cruelty-Psychopathic-Person ality.html

Lisa
According to that link people who abuse animals are 4 times more likely to commit property crime.....That's a weird statistic.

I used to burn ants with a magnifying glass, but I haven't turned psycho just yet.
is it wrong that i wondered if someone then ate the lamb... well its death would have been pointless otherwise wouldn't it ..... mmmm lamb
Like I said....just one of many articles....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruelty_to_animal s

......but if you don't find this level of cruelty a problem....'nuff said'!!!!!!
I don't think anyone approves of it, do they?
