The McCanns now say how they considered taking their three children with them to another restaurant called the Millennium further away, but rejected the idea only because they did not have a buggy, they said.

I'm with you entirely, Boo.
Mary, sympathising with Maddie is a given. Everyone does.
But is your pool of goodwill so stupidly shallow that you can't feel for more than one party? You can't accept that someone has made a harrowing error that will haunt them so for the rest of their lives? Are you that blinkered? No, are you that thick?
What happens in these debates is people make pathetic attempts to big up their own parenting skills or their own goodness by slagging off an easy target like the McCanns. They think it makes them look more caring and responsible in comparison. Why? Because they've looked at themselves are don't like what they see. Psychology level 1.
Please Answerbank - set up a whole section for the McCann thing. Then these salivating ghouls who seriously get off on this case (almost sexually) can feed their egos in peace.
In the meantime, please do carry on slating them and making yourselves seem even dumber than I think you are already - which by the way, Mary, is very very dumb indeed.

They made the choice to leave their children unattended, one is now missing feared dead. They should be prosecuted accordingly.

The ins and outs of this sorry business have been aired enough and I will not add to them.
However, if the McCanns want to avoid any more public vilification they should now adopt a lower public profile:
- They no longer need a "team" to see them through their ordeal.
- They certainly should not attempt to cash in by writing a book about their experiences.
- Finally, they should get on with their lives and try to restore some normality for the sake of their other two children (whose needs seem to have been somewhat overlooked in all of this).

To be honest with the Mcwotsits I think that them waking up every morning and living with guilt is punishment enough.
We all know they are a pathetic excuse at parents and Gerry spent no time with his kids on the holiday prefering to pay tennis. The pics of him with his daughter show someone totally detached and not really wanting to be there.
They shouldnt be given any more opportunities to say they should have done things differently. She aint coming back, let them live with the guilt.

Just checked back on this post and I have to say I'm heartened by folk agreeing with me on this particular post!
I've always had total sympathy for the McCann family and apart from one or two people I'm usually on my own with my sympathy.
I for one am often appalled by peoples almost gleeful baying of blood where the McCanns are concerned.
Yes they made a dreadful mistake- one which they and the entire family will suffer from for the rest of their lives. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Shame on anyone for wishing ill on this family.

This is a case of media overdrive. People get fed up because they think that the McCanns are getting more publicity than most would under these circumstances.
Wether or not they are responsible for their child going missing seems to be here nor there any more.
