I am on aol at the moment , i phoned virgin media today and i will be changing over to them on the 29th of April, i want to let you know that i may be green when i come back , however my name will be as close to my original as possible , so please do not distrust me as a greeny i will not change my name so as to come back and antagonise people that dissagree with me and i will only have one name (no three or four) thank you for patronising this thread.

Tell the Ed jacko - can't see why you can't be reinstated pretty quickly with your original name.

ok thanks icy , i happen to have my isp number that i am using now so i will e mail that to them and ask them to look out for me when i return with a new one , that should not be to difficult should it.
You should have no problem signing in with your current name Jacko50, even if you registered with an AOL email address.

As long as you remember that address and password. The only problem you will have is receiving emails from AB, but if you email the Ed with your new details, they will be able to update your new address.
Also Jacko50, if you do feel the need to re register, use a web based address. Hotmail, Yahoo, Googlemail etc. That way it won't matter who your ISP is.

thanks dabees, i have just e mailed them so i will see how i get on , failing that i will just sign up as jacko51 .
Good one dabees. I'm sure jacko can get round this, because he can't be the only one who's ever changed his ISP. The AB team are pretty good at helping with genuine problems like this.

I was thinking (and please excuse my ignorance here) that if i tried to sign on with a new isp for the same name , they would say naff off there is already a jacko50 so you can not have that name . am i making sense?
Question Author
i did not want people to think i was a clone , thereby ostrasising me out of hand , perhaps i am just a bit paronoid.
Your registration here is linked to an email address, say you had jacko50.at.aol.com with the password as password then that will always work. Assuming that you confirmed your registration at that email address.

Even if you no longer have that address, it will still work. AB will be able to find out an IP address, but that's not linked to your signing in procedure.

thanks dabees, i seem to be making a mountain out of a mole hill, that's age i think , they still had jublys and black and black and white tv when i was young. this technology is beyond me.
Question Author
double black , umm they were dark days.
Lol jacko, i was 8 when we got our first colour TV.

Not sure what Jublys and black is??? Jublys, fair enough, but why mix them with black? ;-)
Question Author
i know i had better go to bed now as i am confusing myself.
i think i was 18 when we had colour tv.i am not sure now.i may of been older of the year it came out.
Question Author
i really am rambling now , so goodnight. i meant to say i am not sure what year colour tv started.
Well, I'm off to bed in a few minutes guys, but I had to add that I totally lost my first registered user name, which was very similar to the one I use now. I was..cough...thrown in the dungeon for a while, and when I was allowed back on - it had to be minus the original name! Since I'd used it for a good while, I was a bit peeved, to say the least, but no - I could only use the new one!!!!
Anyway - thanks, and night for now - x
Goodnight you two. :-)
