That the original report of 'creepy man' was?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles /news/news.html?in_article_id=510082&in_page_i d=1770&in_page_id=1770&expand=true#StartCommen ts

And when you read down the article we see that the Portugese Police DID act on the tip off, found the man shortly afterwards and ruled him out.

So this innocent man has been headline news months after for absolutely no reason.

Because everyone is sick to death of it.

It does sound like the Investigation Agency that the McCanns have employed to follow up/ find new leads, may have been chasing their own tails in this instance. If this man had been tracked and ruled out months ago, were the McCanns told?

Were the McCann's aware that this man was ever a suspect?

It's left their private detectives with egg on their faces -again.

My point is that because his image was splashed all over the front page a week ago because it was a 'new lead' then the fact he was been dismissed as a suspect should be given equal prominence.
since when do the mccanns have to be told every detail of the investigation? they are not police or detectives? if the police spent its time telling family and witnesses every dead end of every case they would never get any work done.

so does this mean that the police can stop being called imbeciles as they are doing more work than people give them credit for?
Now that the whole world has seen pictures of Madellene and no on has come forward to claim the reward doesn't it point to the fact that she is dead and her body is probably within a short distance of the holiday complex?
Question Author
Ah - I see it is headline news now the McCanns' are saying it's not him
Hey Ethel, I'm with you on this - see my manifesto from 2 years ago:

4) Newspapers are to be held responsible for their actions - eg if a paediatrician is hurt after a tabloid names him as a paedophile, the editor is charged with manslaughter - and any wrong accusations must be recinded in the same type face, size and area as the original allegation (eg front page news - We are wrong)

Thanks for that, Vic - it demonstrates the point I was trying to make very nicely.

And I agree entirely with you.
100% behind you Ethel.

If I hear any more about 'Gerry and Kate' and the fact that they now seem to be in charge of the case, I shall scream.
They have never let the Portuguese police get on with their job properlly and the media have given them too much credence.
