How many reports like this do we have to read before our Politicians, Police, and the Courts, begin to get the message, so that our Elderly, if not every law abiding citizens feel safe to walk the streets?

The yob who attacked the elderly lady, had been causing trouble since he was 6 or7.

Why had not the police or social services stepped in and made his parent/parents take him in hand, at this early age?

OMG anotheoldgit - the first story is bad enough, but the second picture & story is absolutely horrific.

I'm lost for words, except to say that the parents of the @rseholes who carry out these terrible crimes should hang their heads in shame & the perpetrators should never, ever, be released from prison.
You have to fight fire with fire.

But I have said it before and will say it again society is made up of too many woolley liberals and left wing lunatics who believe scum like this should be given a second chance. AB is just one such example, full of do gooders.

Yes we can lock this thugs up, we can give them tags and ASBO's but the only thing that will work (apart from the death penalty) is a damn good kicking.

It is as simple as that, it really is.

I am not a hard man in mind. Outside of the army and the rugby field I have never been in a fight in my life, but give me just one minute with these thugs in a padded cell and I will guarantee they will not commit a crime again. Think how much I could save the government??

But it won't happen.

The time has come for the scum who support human rights and social workers to wake up and smell the coffee.

This could be your Grandma next!!!!
It is too late to help some members of our young society. They are the product of our (their parents and granparents) desire for a free society after the second world war.A society based on an acceptance of anything that was not acceptable to our parents and grandparents.
But it will change. My own children are far stricter with their children than I was with them- a fact I am often reminded of when I think they are being a bit harsh.
The wheel goes round and round!

If we carry on as we are doing now, no way will it change woodfellow.

It seems obvious that your children were brought up correcttly, in an age when there was no need to be so strict.

This then made them into responsible parents, who can see how society has changed, so consequently they are having to be more strict than you were with them.

Bewlay is right, how did we ever allow these woolley left wing liberal lunatics to run things?

"SPARE THE ROD AND SPOIL THE CHILD" the old ways worked best.
Bewlay Bros, Well put, when is something going to be done
enough is enough.
No, the elderly are treated like a nuisence, much like everyone is who doesnt fit a certain criteria.

Society has a very disposable attitude these days.
Sad to say, but the elderly are getting a raw deal. They are forgotten and perceived as being burdensome to society.
100% spot on Wardy, and as to the reply that asks how we let it happen?, the peple that let it happen were voted in, and they're still in power, so expect things to get worse.
