does it ever concern you the amount of interest that some folk on a website show in other peoples offline lives?
do you find it strange that they show more than a passing interest in things that really arent anything to do with them or the site?
would you call this behaviour bordering on the stalkerish?
or is it the result of a sad and lonely unfulfilled life offline that they spend so much time prying into other folks private lives?

or is it perfectly normal behaviour?

Question Author
sally i find the thought rather disturbing.
where does interest stop and infatuation take over?
I find it very disconcerting even sinister when people reveal details in such a way as to make it plain that they have offline issues with one another. It's just not cricket.

Do you mean babybow's fascination with Elvis and Rosie's MSN convo's and the fact they were the "talk of CS"?

Yes, it was creepy.
on here its good to have a little chat, no one has to give out any info if they dont want to and as you know some people on here simply e-mail eachother
On here it seems to pass as perfectly normal behaviour since so many threads spring up regarding it.

Not entirely sure it's healthy though.
OK so whos got me tv remote then.
I agree with you that this is indeed sad behaviour. A good example of this is being obsessed with thinking I'm a man. This is what you may refer to as 'offline' life.

Pot and kettle.
I am with sally on this 1.

it is a bit like ppl you work with wanting to meet outside work .

To be honest, from what I have seen they are more interested in prying into the AB regulars lives so they can tell them to "get a life"

There is no real interest, they just want to make an example of someone that frequents AB more than them.

yes it is sad that they feel the need to do it, not only sad but it also gives us all an insight into them as a person.

Perhaps some people are just trying to be friendly?
Question Author
