When peter Tobin was sent to prison last year, the Scottish police suspected he was guilty of other murders acorss the UK. His Modus Operandi and was circulated to police forces who were specifically asked to try and identifty disappearances near to where Tobin was known to have lived.

Essex Police had been investigating the disappearance of Dinah McNicol from Tllingham in Essex, and it was they who got a warrant to search the house in Margate,

Oh. Ta.
Why have none of the news reports mentioned the fact that he is currently in jail for the murder of Angelika Kluk? Is it some misguided attempt to give him a fair trial?
Pagan, it was really bugging me as I heard his name on TV but couldn't think why it was famaliar to me. I guess it is as you say, to try and not predjudice any jury on previous crimes. Although this would be damn near impossibly considering he was only found guilty of Angelicas murder not so long ago.
*prejudice* before anyone corrects me!
'familiar' : )
Impossible
ROFL, thank you all for your corrections!!!! Seriously, that has brought a smile to my face this morning, you aren't all Lucy Thomas are you??????

cheers
warpig.
LOL warpig...I think everyone is trying to be Lucy around here :o)

I read that authorities are now looking into whether John Tobin is connected to the disappearance of Ginette Tate.

Don't they always seem to do this??
Ah Pippa, I remember when Janette Tate went missing and it is very sad that she has never been found. I recall an interview with her father a few years ago and it broke my heart. Yes they always seem to look into her disappearance whenever something like the Tobin case comes up. I suppose it means that the police haven't forgotten her case and are still determined to find her killer.
I remember her going missing too, warpig.

I think Robert Black has been connected to her disappearance/murder too ~ as he seemed to travel about quite a lot. Obviously he didn't confess to having anything to do with Ginette, so it may be back to the drawing board.

I will never forget that case either ~ and am pleased to learn that her file isn't closed.
pagan- it has been mentioned every day in the Daily Mail.
Pagan: That he was convicted and is serving life was mentioned today in The Times, no less. You must be reading some very tactful newspapers!

Clarionst, thats the Robert Black that Pippa is referring to, he has been linked to several disappearances including Janettes but never charged.

Ginette
Janette
Jenette
Gennette

Her name is spelled differently in lots of reports ~ hence the confusion.

I use Ginette because that is how I remember it being spelled at the time of her disappearance.
LOL rojash, we all know who we mean and pippa is right it is spelt many different ways in the media.
