I have an under active Thyroid, is there any reason why I shouldn't take Celery Seed. Does anyone know please?

Not really, but some research carried out in Australia has shown that there may be a potential interaction between celery seed tablets and the thyroid medication, thyroxine.

The evidence suggests that celery seed extracts can cause a decrease in thyroxine levels. So if you are taking thyroxine, you might want to check this out with your doctor.

Sorry for the late response to Octavius and SupaStar - was off sick.
I bought these tablets as I read they were excellent for the joints and they also assist bloating, but thought I better consider the Thyroid issue first. I guess I'd better ask my doctor before I start taking them then.
No, fortunately, my hair is not thinning, but I know that is a symptom of an under-active Thyroid - so I am lucky there.
