The problem is the police are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Even is it does upset people, I would rather the police have powers to stop and search than see another 7/7. I vividly remember that day - for hours I had no word from my family and thought they were dead, and it was the longest day of my life. I'm sure those who were injured or lost loved ones aren't complaining.

Tillyfloss doesn't feel safe, and neither do many others - including me.

Like a previous poster said -I dont even think twice at the airport security checks-and thats everyone getting checked - not just random checks. (I always get stopped BTW and have to do the standing on one leg routine for the shoe check-not an easy feat with a rosy glow lol)

I agree that blowing people to smithereens has always been against the law, but as far as I'm aware, terrorist bombers never did care very much for the law.

Drisgirl, I usually get stopped at airports too. I don't know whether it's because I look suspicious, or whether the security person wants an easy day and I just look like a friendly type who won't complain. Whatever the reason, I never mind. I'm just pleased that security is heightened. I'm stepping onto that plane - and I want to step off it again.
