I was begining to doubt him, but, I will now be voting for him and the party.

I look at the state of the country and feel that it is time for a change. There is no use voting Lib Dems or any other as they will never get in and this would waste my vote.

I feel that Gordon has held the purse strings for the past decade but now wants to distance himself from the past....no chance. Look in your wallet, on the streets and on the news........Time for a change ? I think so.
Anyone can put together a speech , claiming they have all the answers
Afterall isn't that what political parties of whatever persuasion do , in order to try and convince joe public , in order to attempt to form the next government ?

If he has hoodwinked , sorry impressed you - why not vote for him - you will have an oppurtunity next month .

That Oliver Cromwell , has got a lot to answer for .
Oh , but wait a minute , i'm not a monarchist

I agree with both of you. I was raised on Tory voter but was originally converted to Labour by John Smith who sadly died.
I thought Blair was a breath of fresh air and voted for him twice. The last time I voted was for the Lib Dems as Charles Kennedy was against the dreadful Iraq war and by that time I was heartily sick of Tone the Turd. I like Gordon Brown but feel that he can't sort out the Labour mess. I watched David Cameron and was very impressed by his speech. He said all I was thinking. Whether I would vote Tory if there was an election is another matter as I read somewhere that Dave like shooting birds. This may not be true but if it is he won't get my vote I'm afraid.
Quizztwig. Perhaps you should look at what the parties stnad for not what particular individuals. I'm sure you will find indiiduals you disagree with in all parties!
Time for a change. Labour has been all talk, contrived statistics ( I worked for the Govt for some years ) and MRSA. 10 years on and we're worse off. Only rated 17th in Europe for medical care - disgusting!

Bazile - I think the hoodwinking has been successfully accomplished by Labour and their spin.

Hi Salas,
It really was something else, and I will be voting for him.

Bazille,
Thats true, anyone can put together a speech, problem is, we all belived Bliar ten years ago, and look where it got us.
I just hope Cameron delivers at least half of what he's promising, even that will be an improvement on this present lot.

quizzywig,
No-one knew Bair before he became leader of the labour party, and then he fooled us all.
At the risk of repeating myself, David Cameron jumps on any available bandwagon that he thinks will increase his popularity, so I'm suffering under no delusions. From Going Green, to Hugging-a-Hoodie, to grasping at straws - that's Dave. However, I do think he did well today - and it's the first time I've thought he was as genuine as any politician can be (which of course is never really very genuine). In my area a vote for anything other than Tory is wasted, and although I've been a Labour voter all my life -not for personal reasons - but simply out of principle, my allegiance changed drastically after a few years of Tony Blair, and I swear I will never vote Labour again. As I said on another thread I don't believe the Conservatives have a hope of winning an election at the moment, but Cameron did well today, and if an election is called, he might, at the very least, make a big dent in Labour's majority. I hope so - if only to knock the smile from slimey Gordon Brown's cosmetically enhanced teeth!. I don't like Brown, I don't trust him one bit, I can't imagine why anyone would want him leading the country, and the sooner he goes the better.

Quizzywig, I also thought Blair was a breath of fresh air . I well remember the wonderful euphoria surrounding his intitial victory - but Lonnie is right - he fooled us all - and how wrong we were!
Of course you could say why hadnt the tories done all the things he suggested when they were in power for how long???

Talk is cheap, I will do all these things and reduce taxes.

Piffle. All as bad as each other
It had everything...

...except any Policies.

I thought it was deeply flawed. It was a negative speech. Labour have made a mess, it is time for a change, but no mention of what the Tories would or could do differently.

That said, Cameron in chat mode is quite watchable.

I agree with your thoughts on Cameron but arn't they all the same really. Show me an honest politician, ready to work for the country and not him/herslef and I'll show you the lastest porkie recruit to the Red Arrows.
They are all the same but having lived with past Tory horrors I'll stick with this one thanks.

Hi naomi,
Your quite right in your summerisation of Davids Camerons personality, but I think he has a good team behind him, and with luck, they'll keep him on track.

Reverand,
Its a different party from when they were last in power, and I don't think you can draw comparisons,

Gromit,
Thats your opinion, fair enough, but at the present, while in opposition, he can only say what they will do, then make them policies if they get elected, for the moment, what they are is promises, and like all politicians, we can only hope he keeps them if he gets power.

Lonnie, a good team behind him?
William "boy" Hague, the last Prime Minister in waiting!
Talk about fooling the people!
Question Author
Hi cambus,
Yes, regardless of Hagues performance as a leader, which I admit, was a catastrophe, he's a good politician and brilliant orator, just not a leader.
But your entitled to your view.
-- answer removed --
I was going to vote for the Tory's but not now.
He never mentioned anything about curbing immigrants coming in and claiming benefits, houses, free NHS etc etc.

But I wont vote for Labour!
