so the portugese police say that they may now beliveve that the little girl may now be dead.if they had handled the case better in the first place maybe she wouldnt.or if the parents had not left her alone maybe she wouldnt what a mess and what a waste of a young life if she is no longer with us.all involved should hang their heads in shame, and whoever is responsible should be hung.i know this post has been on here many times but someone should be accountable.i hope they are wrong and she is safe somewhere.

Got to admit i hadn't seen the pictures of the distance from the apartment and the tapas bar, and like korm, i have to admit to them being quite a distance from each other, and one that I personally wouldn't be comfortable about, the Mccanns however believed their children would be safe.

Before the incident happened i'm sure there were thousands of parents who have done exactly the same as the Mccanns- left their children in a room whilst they dined close by, i'm sure not all of them used the babysitting facility (often appallingly ineffective anyway). Does that make all of them evil and bad parents? Of course not, it's called never forseeing that kind of outcome in a million years.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, I think it's terrible kicking this couple when they are already down. I cannot begin to imagine their grief, and to state their lack of emotion in the public eye is an admission of guilt is downright evil.
In total agreement with you on this one legend
oh the link isn't working to the right page, apparently the police are searching the family's renault scenic today.

You may not have leg end, but I said I'm sure (obviously I don't know for certain!) that others have done this prior to this case.

No one is a perfect parent, we've all made blunders where our kids are concerned.

Yes the Mccans made a fatal error, putting their own happiness before the wellbeing of their children that night. I'm not arguing with anyone over that. My point throughout all this with you and anyone else who wishes to see this couple burnt at the stake is that I personally cannot bring myself to vilify them for this judgement error.

I don't think they are to blame other than the above mentioned error and by giving someone the opportunity to take their daughter.
I think we all discussed the distance at the time and democratically decided it was way to far to be away from your child. I had a broken back door a couple of months ago, the children were in bed and to get the washing I would have had to have walked out of the front garden and around the back to collect my washing in when it started to rain. I couldnt do it, I wasnt prepared to lock them in, in case of fire let alone anything else.

I think those that would leave their children now, would think twice.

I personally havent thought anything about the way the mcCanns have handled their situation, having never been in it I couldn't possibly comment, given that everyone reacts differently. If they did have something to do with this and they get found out then they need to prepare to be the most hated parents in history.

At the end of the day, they left their children unattended and poor Maddie has suffered needlessly to what end we don't, as yet know, I was never tempted to leave my child when I couldn't get a baby-sitter, I just missed the dinner/night out/whatever, yes I moaned and was miffed but it's not the child's fault.

Their child could not have been snatched (if that's what happened) had the proper precautions been taken. As legend says it's not like they gave her too many sweets and she was sick, that is a parental error but not serious.

The Portuguese police have now said that the tracker dogs could not have sniffed anything unless a body had been laying there for 2 hours, and they are wondering (I'm not accusing) if the body was taken away 5 days later in the Renault Scenic. It gets worse and worse, I only wish the poor child could be found in perfect health and happiness.
dotty the link works, just go into the newpapers bit. Very interesting I must say.
johnlambert where is they any proof that Murat had anything to do with this crime? He is being pilloried and hung drawn and quartered without a trial or any proof:

Please johnlambert I would also like to look at the facts, yes I believe he had kiddyporn on his computer, he hired a car, had something to do with a russian and was nearer to Maddie than the parents were, where does that make him guilty? His is a disgusting person, but unfortunately that also doesn't make him guilty. Believe me, if he is proven to be guilty I will be one of the first to vilify him, but until then, there's nothing.
I am not calling anyone on here names, we all have our own opinions. Look at the OJ trial, how could he have been found innocent? It's peoples minds, we are all different I suppose.
