About time ?
After the abduction of that poor little girl in Portugal. Is it not time that we should adopt a complete zero tolerance on animals that prey on kids. I know it is not a foregone conclusion that it is indeed a nonce responsible, but i sadly feel it is but a matter of time until it is the case. I wish that we could bring back hanging for these b##tards. Kids should be safe all of the time. Parents should not have to worry about deviants . (Footnote) Please do not post comments regarding "why did the parents leave her there ?" as i am sure they will live with that for the rest of their lives.

I totally agree, zero tolerance. What about that guy who was convicted of murdering the polish student in Scotland recently. He had previous form for holding and subjecting two girls (about 12 or 13 yrs) to a prolonged sexual assualt, yet he was free to murder somone else.
They have just said on the news that the portugese police are now considering that the abduction was for a sexual nature, about bl00dy time, this should have been looked into initially following her abduction although I presume it was but they did not want to release that at the time.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Neil & even though I've called these undesirables 'Animals' myself, it is an insult to them! The Animals I mean, not the perpetrators!

What age is a 'kid' for example? I am assuming that you don't mean anyone under the age of 18?
What is 'preying on'? Are we talking about sexual assaults only? I know of someone who was accused of kidnapping a child from a school (and it was covered in the local papers as a paedophile style attack). In fact it wasn't, it was actually the chaps daughter who the mother was refusing to let him see.
I am also assuming that 'proper' justice is done and there are the proper appeals procedures.

When you say zero tolerance what have you envisaged as the consequence for someone who may transgress this limit and offends once, twice or maybe more?
Is this likely to be imprisonment for life or a more violent response such as physical assault including killing of another person (sometimes more politely described as the death sentence)?
When are these animals (sic) to dealt with? Are you suggesting that the 12 year old who I worked with today who had sexually assaulted his sister is dealt with your view of zero tolerance? What about the abuser who is a close relative - have you thought how the victim of the abuse might feel if her/his loved family member was harmed?

The response that today�s flashers are tomorrow�s rapists. Is this a personal view or a professional view? What is your evidence base? Not that there isn�t some level of linkage, but not necessarily irrevocable steps, someone who exposes themselves are not inevitably going on to become rapists. You seem to make several excuses in your statements. All i am saying is that these dirty perverts do not belong in society. We should get rid of them asap, parents all over the country are scared to let their children out of their sight for any time span. Why should we put up with this. Hang the f##king lot of them. Oh and by the way, are you some hippie social worker ?
