http://www.wales.nhs.uk/documents/12808.htm Why are the English getting a raw deal? Residents in Wales are now to get free perscriptions on the NHS. If you live in Scotland students do not have to pay to go to university, and their old do not have to sell their houses if they have to go into a nursing home. And we do not have an English Parliament, to enable only English MPs to vote on solely English matters. Do you think they would let me smuggle myself into Scotland and then claim political asylum?

Hi aog, glad to see your still here.

In answer to your question, all I can do is to trot out what i've been saying for a couple of years now, and that is, since this Govermentis trying, and succeeding, to destroy Britain as a unit, and England in Particular.
This is just another step in that direction, because there now will be some ill feeling towards the Welsh, as there already is towards Scotland,

You will now hear more calls for an English Parliament, which will hasten it.

I could go on, and on, and on, but I won't.
Who was the twit who brought in devolution?
Sorry, misread the title and thought it said "free persecution for Wales", then got confused over the question.

It's getting far too late. I'm off.
I love living in Scotland! Buy hey before you jump down my throat, us poor ******* will have had a year and half of the no-smoking ban before you lot!Las t but not least, don't forget the poll tax-however us Scots have the English to thank for the rebellion that sent Maggie 'homewards to think again' ironically!

Hi to you also Lonnie, but I did not know I had been away, just a slow news period.

prattler not a very good argument i'm afraid I do not think your 18 month smoking ban prior to ours being introduced quite balances the scales of disavantages we English have to endure.

Regarding the poll tax, best thing to be introduced. Why should't a house with say 4+ wage earners in residence pay more collectively as a house with only 1 or 2 persons living there?

The only thing wrong with poll tax was there was no reduction for couples, they had to pay double what they had previously paid. But they have still managed to claw the extra cash out of us, what we pay now in council tax is much more than we paid together in poll tax.
