Is anyone sad that the whale in the thames has lost it's life.?

'This is in response to sheffwed39 I think it's extremely sad that it didn't make it back to the deeper waters regardless of where it was found. If it wasn't news then it shouldn't be on the news chanel.

Part 1 : Maggie - I respect your right to a difference of opinion too and the right to mourn for the loss of the whale. I have no hesitation in my mind that you have compassion by the bucketload but just because I am not in a flood of tears for the whale does not mean that I am not a compassionate person and I suppose that whilst -as I have always said - I do not give answers to be rewarded by stars , I felt that you singled me out in a respect by deeming my answer unworthy because I did not fully agree with the degree of importance which you placed on the demise of the whale and you said that you hadn't rated answers which more often than not did not feel compassion for the whale. Is there a sliding scale for what degree of compassion must be felt ? You say that it was your day to mourn the whale and tomorrow you will mourn something else , well perhaps that was MY day to mourn the children whose lives have been lost due to deviants or even at the hands of their own parents. My heartstrings are very easily tugged by sad stories involving children as like the whale - in a fashion - young children are the unheard voices , sometimes crying out to be heard and aided. I had read various soties that day which chilled me to the bone and quite frankly brought many a tear to my eyes. I am more of a people person and my judgement had been based on the stories which I had read , which obviously affected me and the answers which I gave. For the record , as a young girl , my parents had to call a halt to the amount of cats , dogs , birds etc which I brought home with me to tend to and nurse back to health. It got to the stage where I brought home every waif and stray who had been hurt.

Part 2 : I did not comment on the argument between Shaneystar and Sako out of a sense of duty or because I did not feel that she could indeed hold her own in an argument. I did so because I am finding it harder to bite my tongue when such caustic remarks are becoming more prevalent on AB and it just seems so uneccessary and I find it difficult to remain quiet in such instances - much in the same way that I would interfene in public if I saw a row getting out of hand , that's just my nature. I make no apologies for wishing to keep things on an amicable level and it was never my intention to cause you offence by not sticking purely to your original question as most threads DO tend to go off at a tangent. I will however bear this in mind with your future posts.
