If these attention seekers want to get chopped about that's up to them but why are tax payers paying for it?

The NHS should treat sick people. The NHS should not be there to give men vaginas, women penises, make women pregnant or make fat people thin. These, to me, should all be elective paid from one's own pocket, and if they cannot afford to do so, well that's their problem.

No because Tora, you don't want a debate, you want to show your superiority like you do in all your questions.

You dislike so many cultures and differences in people - that it is making you so bitter!

Definitely not right to allow elective surgery over neccessities like cancer treatment, organ transplants or hip/knee replacements.  Can anyone explain where there has been such a big increase in people believing they need to have these ops over the past few years?

Helen, he will never change.

10:49. If something as serious as gender dysphoria is more than likely to cause psychological damage and extreme mental illness in those suffering from it, then perhaps you could see it as a cure for their mental health issues?

No Barsel he won't.

Lankeela, because people feel free to talk about it now.  It does not have to be hidden.

I just think people are more open about it these days instead of living a lie.

Barsel: "The thing is TTT perhaps those people who want gender reassignment can't live without getting it and some will take their own lives as they cannot live like this. " - Yes and they are the genuine cases of gender dysphoria, extremely rare. The rest have just discovered that they can get a lot of attention and advantage in life if they pretend to be women and it is nearly always men pretending to be women. They have discovered that they can win in womens sports, use their changing rooms etc...and the world is full of gullible idiots who'll go along with it.

Here's one reason to focus resources:

RH: "You dislike so many cultures and differences in people - that it is making you so bitter!" - no I dislike the new fascism and the TROB enablers of it.

It costs £60k to to turn a man into a "woman". You can do 5 hip replacements for that. Sorry Mable, Jean, Brenda, Betty and Pam we are cancelling your hip job because we are turning Steve into Trixie!

Another worry is that people go through a long process to get treatment for a problem, go through all the checks, have the procedure then more or less end up back where they started for reasons best known to themselves.

More wasted resources.

Oh, and it's nobody's fault of course.

The waiting time for gender reassignment is years Tora. I don't see how you think they're prioritising them over life saving procedures for other diseases or ailments.

Show me one example were Mabel has been told to wait because David/Davina is having a gender reassignment operation.

No, these operations should not be funded by the NHS.

wow. totally respect.  i agree jth

On the NHS only after a thorough assessment by a team of mental health and quality of life professionals.   and certainly not for anyone under 18.

Certainly shouldn't take priority over urgent surgery.  But it doesn't anyway.  And it wouldn't take priority over knees and hips because  orthopaedics wouldn't be dealing with it.

I would never say that someone who was in need and distressed should go privately.

I don't think lack of money is the main thing that has ruined the NHS.  It's more the lack of organisation and being top heavy with unnecessary non medical staff.

I have experienced a lot of wastage in the NHS over recent years too by their admin and computer systems.

mozz: "The waiting time for gender reassignment is years Tora. I don't care how long the list is they are still taking the place of something that actually needs doing.

RH: "Show me one example were Mabel has been told to wait because David/Davina is having a gender reassignment operation." - Well of course they don't actually tell Mabel why she is being bumped, I was just using a TIC example for illustration.

I would agree that it seems gender reassignment has become 'fashionable and press worthy over recent times.  I know personally  two sets of parents who are worried about their kids being overdosed with sex education about transgender people.  Their kids are worried about their true sexuality now.  One parent is now considering home education.

I recently had a knee replacement. If they said to me we can either operate on you or spend the money on someone who is in danger of taking their own life if we don't carry out a gender reas
