Sad, he was in some great films, I especially liked "The Driver" and also "Partners" with John Hurt, where they had to go undercover as a gay couple, hilarious! RIP

apparently he spent a month behind bars way back in 1960 for attacking a stranger (and this I would guess was way before he got tied up with drugs). I don't normally moan about people's minor transgressions after they die, but O'Neal was in a different league.

liked him in paper moon, his daughter was also in it.. read he was a brute to women, dont know if he ever tried that on men, really not much to him in stature.

I always remember him in 'Peyton Place', the sixties American soap, where he played Rodney Harrington.

A jacket he wore became a fashion essential for young Mods, known as the 'Harrington' jacket after his character.

I seem to remember a story about him, when he was at a party, his daughter was there, he didn't recognise her and he chatted her up
